thanks for most of the responses. if the minor was receiving a dime of it the question would not have been posted. as it stands the monir has dropped out of school at 14 and now has an infant. what great parenting the law provided.

her mother is the one that allowed her to get in the situation. Her mother let the 19 boyfriend move in and her only being 14 should raise some sort of flag to the courts. She decided to disown her father because he told her she would have to go back to school.

i think that when a "child" gets pregnant, they obviously think that they are already an adult. if she wants to act like an adult she should be treated like one too. so i don't think you should have to pay. as a matter of fact, when she has the baby, she'll probably be getting child support alright, for her own child!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!
Look. this child needs you now more than ever! Take it from someone who's been there, being a teen parent is soooooo hard she's going to need all the help and support that she can and not just $$ . Maybe if you were a real dad you'd get it. besisdes you put her here so you should take care of her and not throw her off on her mom. What's wrong with all you people abandoning your responsibilities???

As a matter of fact yes you do. My son has an adult daughter that he never paid child support for and just with in the last couple months they finally caught up with him and the payments are being taken out of his pay check and there is nothing he can do about it.

So what? Just because she has a baby now, you should be off the hook?
Regardless of the fact that she has a baby you are legally obligated to pay support until your child reaches 18(or whatever age was determined in your child support order)

Yeah, well the LAW says she still a minor.
There are plenty of people in jail who think they are innocent but the LAW says they are guilty which is why they are not running free.
So, no matter how many kids she has.....until she's 18 she's a minor and is still entitled to child support.

Yep. You've still gotta take care of your responsibilities. And the money doesn't necessarily go to the child, but to the primary parent for all the things they've done for the child.

you have to continue the child support until 18 or until the court orders otherwise.
let's hope her father is not the father.

yep... you still gotta pay... long as she lives at home... though if she's not in school you can try to get it ousted or at least reduced.... depends on what state you live in... some states might require that she go get herself emancipated.... then she will be "considered" and adult... even then though check with the laws in your state...

what a great family you have there, not wanting to contribute to your granddaughter or grandson's welfare. Put an end to the cycle and tie your granddaughter's tubes now.

Unless she gets married then the obligation still exists.
