It just seems that to me that islam is being judged before being convicted...so i wud like to know wat are ur first thoughts when these word are mentioned?

Sanctuary. Because that's what Islam is to me. And as for any bigots in here, as I always say: Research, research, research. Did you know that there are 1.6 billion Muslims around the world? Did you know that Indonesia is the country with the biggest Muslim population? And that it's not in the Middle East? Did you also know that Arabs are only 20% of Muslims worldwide? Did you know that only about 1% of those Arabs are commiting heinous crimes in the name of Allah? When people associate words like "terrorist" and "extremist" with Islam, it's because of the actions of a VERY few number of Muslims. Huge emphasis on the word "very".
Use your heads and quit being so biased. If Islam really was a violent and hateful religion, then you would have 1.6 BILLION terrorists on your hands. Do not judge 1.6 billion people for the actions of a few. It makes absolutely no sense, and it only shows how deluded some people are.

Just a guess, but maybe the reason you haven't met any Muslims who were "all together there" is because you worked at a --what was it you said? Ah, yes. A state correctional institution! Didn't the fact that they were at a correctional institution tip you off to whether or not they were entirely sane? My God, I find it absolutely ridiculous that you're basing your entire opinion of Muslims on a bunch of criminals.

Submission
Islam is a word derived from an Arabic word (islaam) that being, Submission, particularly to God. I think it very fitting that people should want to submit to God, in this case to Allah, which is a word derived from an Arabic word (Al Illah), The God, which is treated as a proper name.
A lot of people think of terrorism and the like, and I admit that is at the top of the list, but even those who do the terrorizing are submitting to what they think that God wants them to do. In the Arabic nations, even those against the Terrorist actions, the headlines use words like 'Witness' and 'Martyr' to describe the suicide bombers. Thus, it is quite evident that they are submitting to a religious cause.

Kaysar...from Big Brother 6 & 7 in America. I love him. And Islam is being judged, but really most people know, or should know, that it's only the fanatics that like in any other religion take things to the level of terrorism. But yeah, I love Kaysar so that's what comes to my mind :).
