they gave me this puppy today and i don't know what type it is. they said it was some type of rotweiller but it dosen't look like one. i think its a mutt but which breeds?

it looks like a choco lab and maybe pit mix. regardless he's gorgeous! you sound disappointed? if you rescued him, he's the right one for you! you did the right thing.

That sweet puppy looks like a chocolate lab. He may have some rotweiller, but he has the head shape of a lab. Great dogs!

He is definately 1/2 Choc Lab. Going by the shape of the face, ears, body, etc. I'd almost bet the other parent was a purbred or high mix of Doberman.

From the shape of his face I would say Pit Bull crossed with Lab...Definately not a rottweiller..If mom was Rott. They would have cropped his tail..you are right it is a mutt. Thats why It was free...

Chocolate Lab cross. I doubt if it is crossed with a Pit Bull or Rottie with that long and narrow head.

Probably a chocolate lab with a bit of bull terrier - his snout reminds me a bull terrier; I definitely wouldn't pick a rottie as one of his breeds though. He sure is gorgeous!

I agree with everybody who thinks lab + bull terrier. Maybe your puppy has a dash of hound in his ancestry somewhere too - those long legs! Congratulations on getting him, he's a beauty.
