I just want a guitar to fool around with. I have never played a guitar before, I'm a drummer and want to mess around with something else. I'd like to spend under $200 (yeah thats cheap but I'm 14 and its my money, not my parents) and I can get a Bullet for that price. I've read some reviews and they've said it was pretty good for the price (around $115).

I'm 95% sure I don't plan on doing anything more than messing around.

Even if you only plan on messing around, the better the guitar on which you mess around, the more you are going to want to play it. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive solution, I'd recommend an Epiphone over a Fender Squier any day of the week. They cost a little more, but not much, and I think you'll be a lot happier with the product.

Before you discount what I say, keep in mind that I make guitars for a living.

The very first Bullets from the early 80s were pretty good. The new ones suck.

You'd be better off getting a decent 60s guitar like a Silvertone. I had one for my forst guitar and it's still one of my favorites. They're better made than anything today. The Peavey T-20 was pretty cool as well.

You should up your price to $150 or $175. Maybe your parents will help if you put up the majority of it.

Spend a few extra bucks and get the Squire Strat...you'll be glad you made the investment.

looks decent...if you really get into guitar tho...id much rather reccomend a guitar with humbucker pickups they provide a wider range of distortion and clear music quality most epiphone guitars are very nice and affordable.

I have previously owned a Fender Squire Strat, (Mexican) and it worked just as well as any other guitar I have owned.

If you're just wanting something to mess around with . . . yeah, I guess that's okay. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to seriously learn.
