Our cat always sits on the newspaper we are reading, if we read on the floor. She has an uncanny ability to sit on the very article we are reading! In addition, when we play board games on the floor, she tries to walk on them. Last night, we pushed her off our game repeatedly, and she finally looked at us with disdain and climbed into the game's box! (Interestingly, maybe she does this because we are not cat people. We didn't know that when we rescued her, but we have kept our promise to her for 14 years...)

Because cats are naturally skiddish around new people and if they are in a room full of cat lovers-the people will all be trying to get his attention and play with him and so forth...except for that one person...the cat views that person as mellow and safe...LOL
I hate dogs and whenever I go to someone's house...everyone there are dog lovers and who does the dog come up to? That's right...yours truly!!!! Ugh.

I wonder if the non-cat people in the room are the people who are not paying attention to them, and therefore seem the least threatening. If you walked into a room full of people who were making funny noises, reaching for you, leaning over and getting in your face, and there was just ONE person acting "normal", who would YOU sit next to? :)
