I am an American Citizen. I see that I can apply for British Citizenship IF my parent is a citizen of Britain.

My father is an American Citizen. His mother, however, is a British Citizen. Can't he apply for citizenship in Britain?

If he does, and is approved (why wouldn't he?) I would then be able to apply for British Citizenship, correct? OR, is this going to far down the family line?

If written letters, I've went onto the britainusa.com website, I've tried calling, but no answers. If you know, please answer, I would appreciate it.

Oh, and not to sound like a smart ***, but please don't say "You can marry a brit" I don't have the time or money to do that. Thanks just the same.

It's entire alright here in America, so I don't see why the British wouldn't let you become a citizen. However, maybe the best thing you can do is try it and see how it goes!

I have similar problems its a grandfather clause as it says grandparents and you qualify through them, if hes good enough they'll probably need him for the english soccer squad as well, in fact that may be the first requirement for citizenship in the future, some drastic action is needed

Sorry, the citizenship offer only extends to the first generation. Your father would hold dual citizenship, which would not entitle you to apply for Brititsh citizenship.

In general, if you are born outside the UK before January 1, 1983,

"Eligibility can only be claimed through the father's line. British
nationality is transmitted ONE GENERATION by descent to an applicant
born overseas with a United Kingdom born father.

I had the same problem. My father was entitled to citizenship through his parents, but this didn't extend to me - it is only good for one generation
