was the mother being a good mother or was she not around. If anything was wrong with them it would be at this age that they would die. Usually within the first three week. Their body temps could have been badly off. did the mother feed them properly if not it may be because she new they were sick. Mother nature has a way of taking care of these things we have no control over. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you did everything you could.

It depends where you got them also. Were they w/ their mother and then removed? They probably had some sort of respiratory infection. Could be lethal in kittens. Sorry about your loss. Rmember to only adopt kittens when they are 8 weeks old. Shelters are the best bet.

You didn't mention, how many kittens??? It is possible for distemper or any number of feline diseases that can strike suddenly, and all, adult cats and kittens. I've seen as many of over thirty cats within a 24-48 hr period for all to die suddenly. And not to have little or any symptoms beforehand. Feline Leukemia, Distemper, and number of viruses. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Were you bottle feeding them? And if so what (KMR and another actual kitten formula, or cow's milk)? Did you aspirate them? That would cause the heavy breathing. Did you see open mouth breathing before they died?

could be many things that could cause this. Upper respiratory infection, malnourished, bacterial infection etc. etc. If you are concerned take them to your vet for a necropsy to see if they can solve the mystery

Sometime they will get really cold or hot. Also, if they don't have there mother to breast feed them then they usual can't survive.

they could have had fleas, or worms, . they could just have all gotten hot and died from the heat.
