my mom has had a dog for 10 years and every time he had that problem she gave him some peto bismol, yeah the pink stuff we take. It actually works and is not harmful to the dog.

The best most inexpensive way i have found for constipation in a dog is get a can of pumpkin (for pumpkin pie) and give the dog about a teaspoon to tablespoon of it in his food and this should do it.
