I want the song to be something that people know or have heard before, but I don't want to use a really popular song that could fall into the "Top 10 First Dance Song" category. I have "The Very Thought of You" by Nat King Cole picked out so far.

Any ideas would be helpful. Also, looking for songs to walk down the aisle to that aren't classical and overplayed.

Thanks!

"At Last" by Etta James It's romantic, soulful and conveys exactly what a wedding should be.

How about "You're mine" by Richie Valens (or even the remake by Los Lobos, cut for the movie about his life, La Bamba)? That's theeee most romantic song I've ever heard, which could be sung to or from either partner. To walk down the aisle, if you want to go comical, if that's your relationship, play the song by Abba that was in that wedding movie, "Muriel's Wedding," which evokes memories of that wedding scene now every time I hear it. I can't recall the name of the actual tune they played but it was definitely ABBA.

The other choice you may want to consider for walking down the aisle, rather than "Here comes the bride," might be by Vivaldi, "Spring" off the four seasons track, which is usually indicative of a "new beginning," hence, the title, "Spring." Go with your common interests and passions to make that choice. I might have chosen the skating song from the Charlie Brown Christmas song album (Vince Garibaldi?) if I'd had it to do over.

Hope this helps!! Good luck to you both!

Look for different artist's versions of the songs you like, chances are with one popular song you could have 5 or 6 versions by different singers.

I don't know where you met, but if it was NYC, there's a great song by the band Extreme called "When I First Kissed You". I wanted it for my wedding SO bad but we didn't meet in NYC (he proposed to me there though). It's a very pretty song and certainly different.

... now I want to hear the song :)

My Fiancee and that i are the two very captivated with music, he's in a band. yet we got here to confirm that everytime we the two pay attention a undeniable music we predict of of another, subsequently it's going to be our first dance. it's going to be so remarkable!. good success
