Hey, if god created life, then he made sex feel good for a reason! I think the christians dont liek the sex before marriage thing. SCREW that. We'd have more babies if we had more partners! More worshippers for god, i thought hed like that. Your country (The US) is way to conservative. They could show a picture of a buttocks on television and mothers across the country would go ape-sh*t. However, they let their 5 year old children play duke- nukem and resident evil, watch some gang shoot a mommy with her baby, that's fine... Here in the Netherlands, its the opposite. Sex is all over tv and violence is limited. Why, I could watch a porn if I wanted at noon here on my cable channels. It's no big deal. The christian thing is all just about their country's taboos.

I'm not going to quote scripture, man. But the Bible is full of sex and lessons can be learned about the improper and proper use of it, spiritually, morally, and socially. I'm married and I love sex. God made sex so enjoyable so that we would be sure to procreate and continue the race. But as with everything, responsible use is encouraged. Debauchery is looked down upon because it debases us to merely animal level. It also weakens us so that we are only concerned with our own pleasures, and do not take care of those who need our help and care. Just as a body that consumes too much fat and doesn't get a workout becomes fat and weak, so too the spirit goes with debauchery and morally weak living. That's the way I see it.
You hear a lot of talk about sex in the entertainment media, but not much about love or the proper context of the use of sex. O yeah there is a thing called hygeine too, and there is a reason for that also. Can you guess what it is?

It seems to me, reading the questions on this site, that a lot of people have hang-ups about Christians. I see many questions starting with "why do Christians....." or sometimes "why do STUPID Christians......" This tells me that the questioners themselves are the ones with the problem. On this occasion it's "sex". Well I can think of at least one other religion (No, two) that has very distressed ideas about sex. I think covering women up from head to toe to prevent the males from getting over-excited and attacking them is a sign of a serious problem. And another is treating women as though they are unclean when they're menstruating. They are NOT, they're just menstruating! I think the whole caboodle is invented by men to keep control over women, and to make them feel grateful for being allowed to live, however narrowly!

You're kidding right? You think the western culture has a hangup on sex? You DO realize that the "west" is the home of porno? of sexual freedom beyond what is natural? Pretty much every commercial on television and every show not family oriented is about sex.

The crotch isn't considered dirty to any Christian, it's just another part of the body. It's just that we choose to keep the private parts of the body modestly covered. You cannot POSSIBLY know what goes on in our bedrooms between a man and his wife :)

Well, maybe you ought to read Theology of the Body by Christopher West.

Catholic happen to think the body is an exquisite creation of God, and the the sex act is one of the most beautiful experiences we can have on earth....when it is between a man and woman who are married to each other.

What has happened in our culture is that sex and the human body have been reduced to mere entertainment. They have totally been corrupted.

THAT is the filthy disgusting thing we have done to the beautiful thing God gave us.

MTV shows porn. Gays are sitcom characters. I could go on and on.

go to catholicity, com and order the FREE tape 'Marriage and the Eucharist." Even if you aren't Catholic, it is a real eye-opener!

I know a lot of Christians, all different kinds, Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, etc. They aren't hung up at all, they believe the act of creating new life for the stability of the potential new child should be treated with care and serious thought, which is what all decent people , no matter what their religion think. I don't know if you mean refusing to treat a female body as a fluid receptacle for varieties of sperm carrying possible diseases, including AIDS, then I believe your definition is a varietal genetic junkyard with 2 legs. So no, I don't believe Christians are hung up at all.

Christians don't have the attitudes you describe. The Bible is full of references to sex and human sexual organs. You must not know many Christians or you have mistaken a disinclination to converse about matters that most people consider appropriate only in certain circumstances, as somehow being a "Christian" phenomenon.

heh heh, eviesgirl, yes, it's a touchy feely subject. lol!! ;-) Now THAT's funny! The only hangups Christians have about sex are the same hangups normal people have about it, those that are taught to them by their puritanical parents and teachers who don't take it question by question without freaking out about kids curiosity. I'm married myself, and think my two children are evidence I don't have a hangup. Perhaps fascination is a better word to describe what I have about my wife- gorgeous!
