Believing(that's the first step) you need to know that God has the power to free you from all of that. After believing you pray. You ask God to free you, you tell him your weaknesses, your troubles, etc. Then you take action. What i mean by this is that if you have a pack of cigarettes you should throw it away because you have been FREE, if your depressed then smile and laugh and have fun because God has set you free. Read the bible, there you will find people like you with the same problems and how God changed their lifes. I hope this helps, that has work for me and i know that it will work for you too.

No matter what you need freedom from: learn the truth, obey, and be set free. If your a beleiver, obey Jesus' teachings then you will learn the truth deep inside where it counts. It's the truth that will set you free!
1) Get the truth from God's word: "Dear friends, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry" (James 1:10)
2) Beleive the truth: No matter how strongs your feelings are, beleive the truth. Your feelings may scream out "he makes me so mad!" Those feelings are not the truth. God's word is the truth. And it says that you CAN be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry
3) Take action: Change the behavior. First, pray for help. Then work on specific actions. (count to 10 before speaking,or leave the room. Ask questions to get all the facts.)
Try doing those three steps and see if you feel the freedom! Remember, search God's word and find the truth-that will set you free.
"Jesus said to the people who beleived in him,'You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.' " John 8:31-32

It's a process over time, it's not going to happen overnight. But there are steps to take. First pray and ask the Father into your heart (mind) and life. Ask for change of you. Ask for guidance and direction. Ask for forgiveness of your sins. Do all this in Jesus name (authority).
Come to the reality that as long as you dwell in the flesh body you are going to fall short. All are sinners. Repentance is a change of mind not a license to sin. Perfection is maturity or full age in His Word. We are to produce fruit and glorify Christ.
His Word is an life learning process. Trust this man or no man unless you check it out in His Word. I've been at it earnestly for 16 years. I'm producing fruit but feel I'm still in the process. Don’t clean house (clean up your act) without filling that void with the Word of God.
Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
Luke 11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
By the way, born again means born from above, check it out.

I am a christian and I still battle with these daily. I can pray. I know that God loves me and offers his mercy and forgiveness. Talk to God, ask Him to give you the strength. Read Proverbs (all of it) it is great and is nothing but Gods way for us to live our lives to serve Him. Also my favorite thing in the Bible is Matthew 5. It always gives me strength.

"Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:24 NIV)
Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." (2 Timothy 2:22 NIV)
"Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy,* drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal 5:19-21

PRAYER. PRAYER. PRAYER.
It's the only thing.
You are probably not Catholic- but I'm telling you- ask Mary to pray for you to help you stop ( fill in the blank). She WILL- and you will feel the prayer support!
