A couple hours actually. It wasn't that bad. I only had one taken out that had fully grown in. They numbed my mouth a lot and just yanked it. It was a little sore and bled for awhile but wasn't that painful. You can eat near that area for awhile though. You can take regular Tylenol for the pain.
If you're getting them surgically removed before they grow in though, then it's more painful. My friend had to do that because she'd had braces before and her dentist said she wouldn't have enough room in her gums to allow them to grow in, so they needed to cut her gums and take them out that way. That's much more painful and took a couple weeks to recover from. They gave her a prescription for more powerful painkillers.
It will all be ok though. It's really not that bad. Some people don't even need to get them take out because their gums are big enough to accomdate the extra teeth.

I was up and about right after I had them removed (two were impacted). They didn't put me under, just used local anesthetic. Felt fine, but was sore for maybe three days. First night hurt the worst. After a week I was mostly back to normal.

All four of mine were compacted and I got two dry sockets... with those complications I recovered in about 10 days (and lost like 12 pounds!).

It didn't take very long at all. I was fine after the surgery and took maybe 2 pain pills the entire time. I think I was fine like 2 days after.

I was eating tacos within a couple of hours. The hubby unfortunately got dry sockets after a three day recovery.

I had absolutely no problems. I really felt fine later that day, but my mom felt I should give the anesthesia time to get out of my system. The next, though, I was fine. I didn't even have any swelling.
