You don't choose to hate. It's not something you do TO achieve a benefit. It comes out of your guts, and you don't control it. Now, there IS a benefit in not trying to repress hate. If you repress it, or try to ignore it, you'll end up with an ulcer. So hate exists no matter if you want it or not. The only thing you can decide is whether you're going to express it or repress it. And your life will be a lot healthier if you express it.

I personally don't hate anybody, but I have seen true Hatred in action and it is a frightening thing. The only "benefit" is that true hatred allows a person to act with a single minded determination, to stay the course regardless of distractions or obstacles. It is the only thing that hatred has in common with love.

Any organization uses hate of opposing organizations to cement members' willingness to follow the leader, and to focus their attention away from less palatable reasons for needing the cooperation of all its members.

Let's say I'm the leader of the most powerful nation on earth. I have personal dislike of another leader of another nation.

In order to get the disliked one out of the picture permanently, I know there will be "collateral damage". This guy I dislike has many bodyguards, so maybe my special operations forces won't be successful in taking him out.

In order to send in the big guns, I, as leader have to convince the rest of my government, and the people, that sending in the military is justifiable.

And how can I justify taking out this guy I dislike?

By finding a way to make the taxpayers hate the guy I hate.

Taxpayers, who will have to pay for the military campaign in more taxes, reduced domestic services, and loss of their young people, must hate the guy I hate.

This is called propaganda. I remember how the little newsletter we used to get each week in school in current events class, always discussed how bad it was for Soviet citizens because the government lied to the citizens, telling them that America was their sworn enemy, even though we school children had no hatred of Russian children.
Russians were told by ther=ir government that they were hungry, and had no chance for better housing, or clothing, or medical care, education, because in order to stay free, the Soviet government had to keep a strong military.

These little newsletters always pointed out how much better off we American Children were than Russian children, because our own government did not use porpaganda; our government did not control the media, so we always had access to the truth. Nevertheless, our American government had only so much money, and we had to have ICBMs and nuclear weapons galore for defense.

So I think any citizen of any age can point to incidents in which propaganda was used to cover up the real reason for military action.

So the benefit of hate is to the ones who control societies and families, and organizations and governments.

That's where racism begins. It is normal for human beings to help others who need it. Slave traders used to justify selling Africans, by saying that the Africans would be so much better off in a Christian country, rather than be left to die in pagan Africa without ever hearing the gospel. People were taught to hate slaves, so they would not try to help them to a better life.

Somewhere the reason for the hatred was lost, and the hatred was taught by parents to children, and reinforced with exaggerations, and rumors, and such.

Women have always been taught restrictions, and submission, in one form or another.

Men have always been taught license, even when their conscience objected.

No benefits unless that person wants to die sooner.
It's proven that negative feelings like hate, anger, and grudge effect a person physically ... it's the cause of cancer and stuff like that.

Forgiveness works far far better. Try that. I guarantee it.

See, when you hate someone, are you sure that person cares? He/she might not even know you're holding a grudge against him/her/ So if you hate them, you're only doing damage to yourself.

Where as, if you forgive them, you free yourself from the chain that's holding you back, and stopping you from moving forward in your life.

FORGIVENESS is the key, my friend.

No benifits. Only downfalls. But it is human nature to hate because of envy or differences.
In old times, hate drove society. Wars were fought because of different beliefs, skin color, different castes and the like. Now days people hate because it is in the human phsyche and the same things are here to hate, but we call them by different names. Even the "beautiful people" are haters to someone who isnt as good looking. Same church, different pew.

Power....keeping people at a distance...creating a circle of people who are like-minded and setting up boundaries. When people are united and like--minded, the powers that be will feel threatened and try to create division. Unfortunately, It is not a healthy way to deal with humanity.
