Old Sid stopped Jason telling a really good joke in the pub tomight by saying, Jace, leave it, there are ladies present. As it happens. I have heard it and it's about men and women having it off. Why can't 'Ladies' hear it? They do it with Gentlemen, don't they?

THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LADIES AND WOMEN. OLD SID SOUNDS LIKE HE'S OLD SCHOOL. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I PERSONALLY WISH THAT THERE WERE MORE OLD SIDS AROUND. IN BEHALF OF THE LADIES, THANKS, OLD SID.

just say "hey - old sid, sit on your **** and mind your own business. the women want to hear the joke as well, have you ever heard them at an ann summers party? dirty buggers!" sid will maybe be a bit pissed off but buy him half a lager and a packet of salt + vinegar and he will be happy enough. barring him would be too much.

Because Old Sid probably has old values, and in his day, you didn't tell jokes like that in front of ladies. You didn't swear either, and ladies were delicate demure little treasures to be sheltered from life.
No, he shouldn't be barred for having manners. It's nice to know that chivalry and manners do exist.

no i dont think old sid should be barred as he has the right to his opinion the same as everyone else.
as for the joke, i would have wanted to hear it, am not easily shocked and would have probably seen the funny side of it.
then again, am no lady....apparently, am a rough diamond.
