Its the so-called organized religions that reflect the group negative just as with any political party or ethics group.
Its in peoples nature to take things too far when it comes to any organization because of competition. I mean who can be the better Christian of the flock or who can destroy the most fur coats in a P.E.T.A. march. Its all the same search for glory.
Even in war, he who kills the most is decorated while those who refuse to fight are extracised.
As Shakespeare said, "To thine own self be true."
Believe what you want to and dont force it on ANYONE else and the world will be a better place.

Its not the RELIGONS that drive people to collective evil, its the PEOPLE. I'll give you Islam as an example. I am a Muslim and I dont agree with ANYTHING the EXTREMIST Muslims do. There are extreme people in every religion, they do not necessarily reflect the views of the entire religion as a whole. If everyone was more open-minded and educated, and they followed their religion they way it was meant to be followed, none of this "evil" would occur

Religion in itself is an organized creation by man, man is evil, therefore any organized religion will have evil intent. I will give an example: Many Christians go to church but have no problems at all about adultery and other misconduct mentioned in the 10 Commandments.

first of all, each and every little thing in existence grew to become into not created via people: the universe is one element. Secondly, there are various variations of God and there are greater advantageous than one holy e book. Now that we are sparkling on those factors, specific, i think that each and every little thing IS GOD (Pantheism) and the Bible is a team of hogwash, that "godist" religions, for the main area, recommend nicely yet fairly have not had lots of a valuable impact on the human race, that there is not any such place as heaven or hell - those are states of being, not actual "places", and evil of path does it exist, so there isn't something to disbelieve there.

From a logical standpoint do you think you could possibly be more simplistic?
Premise: Religion makes people evil.
Supporting argument: watch the news!
Conclusion: You wouldnt know a coherent thought if it bit you in the rectum.

the more important question would be 'when did we lose a sense of personal accountability and responsibility to such a degree that we blame anything (religion, video games, books, tv shows, lack of government funding) for evil EXCEPT the perpetrators?"

I think you are making the false assumption that they have possitive messages. From what I see of religions, they tend to spread more bigotry and hatred then "possitive" attitudes amongst their strict followers.

The main problem is that religions have a built-in exclusivity clause that automatically separates "us" from "them." "We" are the enlightened ones. "They" are the ignorant, and "they" are therefor beneath us. "If they were worthy, God would love them and make them believe as we do. But, God does not value them as us, and leaves them in ignorance. Therefor, they are like animals compared to us and they may be dispatched and abused as it seems fit to us."
