I have a high school diploma...basic, no honors. I have taken some vocational classes to get certification in the heathcare industry, so my question is can I write a book and be taken seriously by any publishers with this education...if it is a really good book. It turns out I excell in imagination, and my writing skills are great considering the above. What do you think?

www.publishamerica.com - this is not a vanity press, but an actual printing house. You submit your manuscript, and if they accept it, they will work with you and get it published!! It is easy, painless, and best of all, free - you don't have to "pay to publish". I have a book of poetry published through them. Good Luck!

It depends on what sort of book you're planning on writing. If it is fiction, anyone who can write is qualified. If it's medical advice, no, you're probably not going to be taken seriously by most of them, but the doesn't mean you can't find SOMEONE to print it. There are many different levels of publisher; "vanity press" sorts where you basically pay all of the printing costs yourself just to see your work in print; small, specialty publishing houses; major publishers...
You have to look around and explore all the options.
Good luck with your book.
