As a TSA Officer, yes I have for two weeks in training and also for refresher courses since things change. Yes, if you get a full body pat down, which are mainly for people with pace makers and defibrillators you are asked if you want a private screening, if not the TSA Officer isn't doing their job, if you mean the additional screening from the SSSS on your ticket it's just a bulk pat down, so any place bulky on arms, sides, belly, back n legs. As far as TSA putting the lady above through what they did, she should call the airport and get a hold of the Screening Managers and complain. Anyway, if you even get just hand wanded and you don't feel comfortable in public with it ask for a private area, two same gender Officers will escort you to a private area. Also, all screening of that sort should be done by the same gender unless for some reason only the opposite gender is working that day (doesn't happen), so don't let someone of the opposite gender screen you.

I worked for an airline, in uniform i used to get patted down. a few months ago i flew another airline, had a hooded sweatshirt on, they told me to take it off, refused, (only had a bra on underneath) they argued with me about the shirt even though i agreed to a search, never offered a private place, was wanded and felt up infront of everyone. You can ask for a private place for your search and someone of the same sex to perform the search. I didn't mind it. my thinking was if some strange guy refused to remove his jacket, they would have searched him too, I wasn't carrying any bad, but he might have been. At least they are checking. Flying again from the same airport this week, we'll see what happens this time

yeah everytime I go.
It's nothing bad, they just wand you, and if they have to touch you they will tell you where they are touching you before they do. I look @ it this way, at least thr checking people so I can feel a wee bit safer.
