It is profitable for the religionists to fan the flames of fear and dread, because then they can offer the remedy-- an alleged salvation.

2 Peter chapter 3 v 3 says:
First, I wnat to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: "Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is He? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created."
They deliberately forgot that God made the Heavens by the Word of His command, and He brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the world with a mighty flood. And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgement, when ungodly people will perish.
But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want any to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come unexpectantly as a thief. Then the Heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgment.

No one can know for sure but those who do believe it have been saying it for years. Some even thought it was going to be during WW1 but they were wrong. It's all about the world getting worse, more wars and poverty, etc. I can understand why they believe it even though I don't myself. It tells them in their Bibles. I think it mentions 2000 years, so I guess they would be going by that but with the calendars changing, you don't really know if it has been 2000 years since Jesus' sacrifice, whether it is true or not.
The thing I find strange is that the things mentioned in the Bible about war, poverty and whatever else, is that they have always existed. The main reason we believe it to be worse now is through the invention of media. ie. we know more about other places as well as our own whereas before radio, tv, internet, etc. we would have only known of a small part.

The bible says that no one will be able to predict when the last days are arriving. We just have to be ready, because it could be tomorrow for all we know. It could also be in 500 years. The point is we have to live every day like it is that last day.
Passage Mark 13:35:
35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

The "last days" doctrine was a sales technique to add urgency to the need for salvation. It has been working quite well for over 2000 years... why should they stop now? Look how well it builds their bank accounts.
It seems to me that if Jesus is coming in a few hours/days/years, the church would not require multi-millions of dollars. But what do I know?

Is this what you really want to come??? It looks like we could be very close with the Isreal situation, but no man knows the day or hour, but we do know the signs of the times.. You may have a few years, and then again maybe not that much time..It will not be a fun time and many will suffer..
Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

You could be onto something there. It's certainly true that everyone from the Ancient Romans onwards (and probably before them as well) has believed morality to be on the decline, and themselves to be living close to the end of the world.
Personally I think the return of Jesus would be really cool. Apart from anything else, as I'm an atheist, it would come as a complete surprise:-)
I'm prepared: I've got a long list of questions for Him!

Its not according to Christian only it is the last days accordint to Islam as well the same concept. However the measure of time on earth is not the same in Heaven. Read the following verse in the Holy Quran"AND ONE DAY IN HEAVEN THE SAME AS THOUSAND YEAR S OF WHAT YOU COUNT ON EART"
You understand from this verse the concept that we are at the last days but not according to our measurements.

When you see the destruction of the Vatican, the Mosque of Omar, America in ruins, Los Angeles sliding into the sea, then it will be too late.
Just be ready for the "last days"
There's too many prophetic signs coming to past especially these last forty years...
But to recognize them you have to read the Bible.

Because they keep saying what the preacher says instead of the word of God.24th chapter of St Matthew,Jesus told his disciples that this generation would not pass till all these things be done and this was them not us.This is why I say that Christianity is a front for Satan. They are believing in lies.
