Many people do this (take part of the prophets teaching and not the whole), I don't think it's right, but it's done. It's like those people who follow the buffet-table religion: they follow the rules and beliefs they want, and just throw away or ignore the ones that cramp their lifestyle too much. Besides how can you believe in Christ and not God, I mean they are the same (you know, the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost all different yet all same)?

The world looks at this in many different ways. Usually when we are small children we are taught about God. Just how indepth is determined by how strong in the word our parents are. And then of course there are others involved in our learning of God and his word. We are living in a time when people are creating what they want the book to say so it fits there lifestyle and makes them comfortable where they are. We can only know as much as the word teaches us so yes we will have questions because of us being human. As long as we study the word we will learn more and more each time. There is so much to absorb. We are to take the bible as a whole and not parts of it. It all works together for us to become filled with the knowledge and then we are less likely to become doubtful about the truth and purpose.

Either he is the son of God, or he was a liar and blasphemer.
You could still gain a lot from his teachings even without believing in him. But some try to play both sides of the fence by saying he was a good or even great prophet. He cannot be both. I believe he did in fact perform miracles. Otherwise his disciples would not have followed him.

If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, then you HAVE to believe in God because Jesus said that He and His Father are one. He said that no one goes to the Father except through Him. If you read the Bible and accept the teachings of Christ, you must accept that He is the Son of God.

well than that defeats the whole purpose of taking it as a whole, you can't take one part of the bible and not the other. It was all written for a purpose to show why the things listed like the ten commandments harm people and then being adults and make decisions with the motivation of love. I can see what you mean by that but by your question of not accepting God in which is Jesus, its contrary to what believing in God is all about.

If Jesus the Christ is not the Son of God, then he was a liar and cannot be the foundation of the true faith. Hence, if you believe in Jesus the Christ, you MUST believe in God.
You can believe what you will, but if God did not send him, it all means nothing. He was raised from the dead BY GOD!

Sure -- all belief and concepts are tools, anyway. The whole purpose of human existence is to go beyond this dualistic self; any tool or concept that is used to do that is valid. If belief in god is not a tool that is helpful to you but following the guidelines of christ's teaching is, then so be it. Whatever works to make you happier and less judgmental of others and yourself.

Yes. I am a great admirer of Jesus and have learned a lot from his teachings. But, I don't believe that he is god.
There have been a lot of questions in this category about "Do you resent your parents taking you to church when you were young?" The church and the bible have great lessons to teach, as does the quran and other scriptures. That doesn't mean you have to swallow the nonsense. Teachers can be wrong.

No, that would be like believing in one third of Jesus. Jesus is pert of the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The tri un God that Created all is part Jesus.
