Why have you described the £10 in detail and not the US whatever? $10? What else has it got on it?
US are very primitive in their religion, not really Christian, do not follow Christ's teaching, but go more with the old testament and all that wrath and punishment. They are supposed to have separation of church and state, but really, the WASPS dictate it all.
The full quote is: "In God we trust...all others cash". People used to put it in shops to avoid giving credit.
The British are not in general really religious at all, even those who believe are not very spiritual. Too much religion is considered a bit unacceptable. They don't really believe in sin, so they don't think they need forgiveness. Certainly don't expect to be damned. I suppose that having state religion is bound to kill it. All those school assemblies. My son was punished for not praying.
Darwin is quite a good hero to have. The other notes have Shakespeare and Dickens I think, who are also quite nice. Scottish notes are different, though.

I wish I lived in Britain. I spent a semester in London during college and am a moderate anglophile. I'd take Darwin over Pat Robertson and the religious right anyday!

regrettably, anti-nationalism changed into the very farthest component from the minds of the Knights of Columbus and others who pushed to operate the "below God" clause to the Pledge again interior the Fifties. So i imagine that "one u . s ., indivisible" is probably almost as good as any. yet I do only like the sentiment of "one u . s . between international locations", it is one which a tremendous kind of people look to have problem with.

Ironic, no?
I'd rather have Darwin on it, even over a God or Goddess of some sort.
And, hey, I'M Pagan!

The US was in general a Christian nation, but is slowly leaving God out of everything.. England once "ruled the waves" and The sun never set on British territory.
The whole world is going down and there is no stopping. England once had great Christian revivals, but now is spiritually dead..
That is why this war in Israel is so important and is ushering in the last days..

Religion should be run independent from religion, however you have to understand that the US and England are to very different countries and that London separated relegion and government ever since Henry VIII.

render, therefore, unto Darwin, the things which pertain to Darwin...and unto God, the things that pertain to God.
