Just curious as to how many ppl use this OTC med. for a sleep aid. Also if you do, do you feel you are addicted.

NyQuil is mostly alcohol. If you can't sleep without you nightly shot, you could have issues.

read the back of the label people! the ingredients in nyquil are equivalent to Tylenol, benadryl, sudafed and cough syrup. What makes you sleepy is the antihistimine (like benadryl). I dont' think it should be used as a sleep aid cause you're taking all the other medicine that's in there when you don't need it. For years, doctors have prescribed antihistimines to help get kids to go to sleep. I'm not saying it's a great thing, but I doubt it's addictive in the way you mean. My son has taken an antihistimine for sleep for weeks at a time as prescribed by his doctor. Nyquil also makes many people jittery, which is caused by the decongestant in it.......pseudophedrine.
