I am departing on a Saturday at 8:25 am from Washington Dulles on American Airlines to LAX. I have to check in bags with two boys. I am staying in capitol hill and will need to get a shuttle/taxi. What time should I leave the hotel? I need to have enough time to eat breakfast at the airport.

You'll need to get there 3 hours beforehand to check in & security. Don't worry about brekkie, you can either buy it at the airport or wait for the food on the plane!

You should arrive at the airport for your flight 1 and 1/2 hrs before boarding. So I guess you should be there by 7:00AM. Hopefully the traffic isn't so bad in DC on a Saturday, so maybe leave the hotel by 6:15. Check and see if the hotel has a complimentary airport shuttle, that will save you lots of aggravation, not to mention money! Good luck!

You have to be at the airport at least 3 hrs. before the departure, maybe 3:30 or 4 for having breakfast. Ask at yout hotel front desk how long would the suttle/taxi get to the airport.

I would get there one and a half hours in advance. Dulles isn't as crowded as one might think.
