No, it is just made up fairy tales. Throughout the ages religion has been used to control the masses or to suck money out of them.
Much evil in the world can be traced back to religions.

Not really. There's NO proof he exists (and if anyone pulls that 'well he created everything' crap they need to be shot, take a science class). No one's seen him, very few people have 'heard' him, but that was thousands of years ago and they were probably crazy, and he himself has never done anything; everyone in the bible did everything all on their lonesome with their conscience (or what people say was god) guiding them. I 98% don't believe in god and 2% do simply because it's been told to me my entire life he does exist, but as I said there's no proof and some dusty book doesn't prove anything. And besides that, all the ancient religions died out because they were proved wrong and the same will happen to all the religions of today eventually.

No I don't. I can't see a deity that would use the threat to keep people in line. Other than things that are common sense - like not killing or not sleeping around on your spouse - I don't believe most of what the christian religion has built itself around either. I've done the church thing, done the Sunday school thing and the more I had of it the less I believed it.

Yes.
For the logical reasons, Aquinas did a better job of proving God's existance then I could. You can find his argument here: http://www.newadvent.org/summa/100203.htm
As for the personal reasons; I believe in God because I have seen Him work in my life and the lives of others many times. I've seen Him transform a girl who was on drugs and had no hope left. I've seen him take a lonely abused kid from rebelliousness to peace. And in myself I see Him everyday, protecting me and guiding me towards His perfect will for my life. I see opportunities opening that could not have been orchestrated any other way. I see prayers being answered in dramatic ways; and I've felt Him, I've felt His love and I've felt him use me to love others who need desperately to know that someone still knows they exist.
There is a lot of thought involved in my faith, but in the end God has proven himself to me so many times I would believe in Him even if it made no scientific or rational sense at all.

Yes, I believe in God.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John

Yes. He has always been with me. Even before I knew who that presence was.
Later in life, when I began studying the bible, I discovered who it was that I had "sensed", whose presence it had been with me all those years.
Yes, I believe there is a God. And I love Him. And He loves me.

I do.
There's no other way this world could have existed - I think there's a higher power responsible for all of creation. And I can say I have experienced Him through prayer.
