You need to remember not all Christians are creationist. I went to a Catholic High School where we were taught Chemistry, Biology, including Evolution. Religion class also taught evolution was how the world began in junction with the Big Bang theory.
And to answer your question, no Chemistry did not make any sense. I had a crappy teacher and hated the class. The next year, I took Organic Chemistry (as first year Chem is inorganic) and I really loved that class. It was so easy and I finally got an A in science.

I don't know if you realize it, but the Bible wasn't written to 21st or 20th century American high school students as a Chemistry or Biology textbook. It was written first to a different culture, different time period, different language. Because it was written to those people first, and it wasn't intended to be a textbook giving a brief overview of chemical and biological processes, you will probably never find satisfactory explanations for biological and chemical processes. Some things you have to learn to interpret based on the culture, how they spoke, how they wrote (Hebrew parallelism), and realize that they aren't modern day americans who are products of a culture that has been changed by the scientific rationalism of the enlightenment.

God is the one who gave us science so as a christian all things come from GOD so knowing this there is a comfort knowing GOD allows us to explore and understand who He is and what he is all about.but you see only Christians see thou different eyes and we see things that non Christians don't see............so figure that out ? and oh by the way we also hear with different ears and we also have a ghost living inside of us and it talks to us and we have spirits who fly all around us and we have no fear of death and we will live for ever and ever and we know the formula for this science and we have a special book that only Christians can understand and if you being non christian if you even try ed to read it you could not even understand it and you don't have to be smart.......OK now this is science and mysterious ways combined together.........hey???? go talk to a tree! and i will talk to the person who hung a tree to give you life in space....and that's another thing we will live in space but we call it heaven....love Suzi any more questions?

Science explains what God has done for us, and shows further prove of His existance and the miracles He has done by the sheer complexity of it all.
