hi im 17 and i got my period at 13 (not sure if that matters) and im 5"1.5 or 5"2. i desire to be 5"3
but anyways i noticed alot of girls grow until their like 18 or 20 or sumthin
i was wonderin if i drink one LARGE glass of milk everyday
and exercise and eat fruits etc and eat healthy but mostly if i focus on the ONE LARGE GLASS OF NATURAL MILK
A DAY for a year or two, will i atleast grow another inch or so? so i can go from 5"1.5 to 5"3
im trying to grow atleast like an inch and a half
its making me really sad about my height so im just hoping there is hope for that one inch and ahalf or so????

It doesn't hurt to try! If anything, it will make your bones stronger and will help you not get Osteoporosis as an adult (which will make you get shorter). Most girls stop growing within three years of reaching menarch (beginning their period). So you probably won't grow too much more, but I'm sure it's happened before. Drink 24 ounces of milk a day (three small glasses or two large ones, milk was promoting "24 ounces in 24 hours" for awhile to help with weightloss and health) and eat healthily and that should help a lot. Milk (or other calcium products) are very important during your early growing years (especially for girls!), so drink plenty of it! You're not too far off of 5'3" already, so it's possible you can reach that 5'3" mark. You probably won't be able to grow much more than 5'5" though no matter what you do since height is largely based on genetics (but not entirely). But guys love short girls! I'm 20 and I'm only 4'11.5"! I haven't grown at all since I was about 15. So be proud of your shortness! It makes you unique!

Good luck!!

You should do those things anyway. It may help you grow moreif your genetics will let you. But women also begin to loose height by the age of 35. So at the age it could be possibleto lose bone mass and get shorter!! If you have a healthy diet, with alot of calcium and vitamin D this would help fight against that. So it might not make you taller now, but it will definatly help in the future.

Well, i'm only 5 feet tall, on my licence i lied and said i was 5'1''. I wished i was tall for many years also. But, i'm happy with who i am. I don't think that drinking milk now will help. It might have when you were 13, but sorry to say I think your done growing. I haven't grown a day passed 12. The only way to be taller is wear high heel, hey it works.

Probably not. Girls only grow a few more inches after puberty and you are way passed that. What's wrong with 5"2? Thats my height and it's perfectly fine.

One of the shortest gals I know is the most fun. She is dating a man 8 years her junior and she is 59.

It's not about how tall you are, it's who you are.

Be the best that you can be and always take your sense of humor along with you.

Complain to your parents. Its about genetics and not what you drink to make you taller. Keep drinking that milk and you'll grow horizontally not vertically. Accept who you are and what you've been given. There is nothing you can do about it.

Don't be sad little one. . . . us men like short girls too! Drinking milk will give your body adequate calcium to build bone if your genetic make up calls for it. Otherwise. . .just be happy with what you got.
