for one to answer without them quoting scriptures would require free thinking and logic. they are programed over years and years to forgo any thing like thinking for themselves and are reduced to only being able to quote the things they do.

Look out your window. Do you not see God in the trees and in the mountains? Do you not see God in the faces of children? Just because you haven't seen Him in person doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

We can't believe that God exists just because the Bible said so. What validity does the Bible have that we have reason to believe He exists? Instead, we know that God exists, and THAT'S why we can believe the Bible to be true.

I like whozthere's answer; this takes more than just a two paragraph response, so the easy answer it to point people to the Bible and let them do the study.

But let me suggest an intelligently thought out and researched book for your intellectual stimulation: The Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel. He's a Yale grad atheist turned Christian pastor/author, and former Editor of....oh, I think it was the Chicago Tribune.

In it he questions experts on various scientific topics and examines things like complex cellular mechanisms, fine tuning of the universe's force constants to support and sustain life, and plenty of others.

For me, it was a very interesting read; very informative.

Last year while skiing I was going up a lift with a lady I did not know. The reason I remember is because out of all the noise and people someone yelled something about mom from the slope and she instantly recognized it as her daughter even though she never spotted her. Its the same for the children of God. As our Heavenly Father we recognize His voice as He speaks to us out of His Word. It is His love letter to us. He knows us and we know Him so when we say the Bible says so it is Him saying so. Plus being God when He speaks there is no greater evidence of His existence than that He says so. Any other evidence, and there is much, all falls short of Gods own revelation of Himself. So how do I know God exists? He told me and I believe Him.

So you want an intelligent reply? How about a witness to reply?
When I was 7 or 8 years old, I was staying with my Grandma Lorine & my father. My grandmother & I saw Jesus standing outside of the living room window standing beside a tree. I told my father so he went outside and stood beside the tree, we were worried because he stayed so long, when he came back inside he said that there was no one outside and I told him that he was still by the tree and that he was standing beside him the whole time. A little later, I saw Jesus' standing over my grandmother's bed.
Since then, I have had many many more sightings of Jesus and of course, the Angels come to. I have talked to people about this, and a preacher said that I was blessed to have seen the Heavenly Father and not to take for granted the gift that God has given me.

When you have Bible backing, how more real can you get?
Otherwise it's just philosophy and 'empty teachings of men'
God's name is in the Bible almost 8000 times in the form called the tetragrammation. It translate down to the name 'Jehovah'.

There is indeed a God, but there are also many gods. Even money can be a god. The demons display themselves as gods.

God is the Word....

But God shows His anger from Heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and the sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. Romans 1 v 18-20

So many people spend time thinking about the purpose and meaning of life, and it is staring them in the face.

Well, since there are no other plausible theories to explain how we came about, God is the only other option. We trust the Bible not only because God tells us to, but because of the historical accuracy, prophesies that have come true, and archeological findings supporting the Bible.

don't you just love those Jehovah's Witnesses? anyway, want a logical answer? Not sure if this is one, but ok... God exists, but "he" is not a spirit, he is not a god (lol), He is our "master" and our goal, we want to be like Him, and we prefer to obey Him instead of think for ourselves what is wrong or right... He is our imaginary master that we use when we are afraid or confused, when we are lazy or just don't give a damn, he must exist so we can be afraid of bad doings, that we are afraid of something and so do only good and be rewarded... not sure if this is a logical answer to you, but my answer stands: There is a God, just that he doesn't exist! :D

After reading your questions, it doesn't seem like you really want to engage in intelligent discussions.
If what you are saying is true and you are not getting any answers that seem intelligent, then how "intelligent" is it for you to stick around here, wasting your time? Sometimes intelligence can be better measured by what somebody does more than by what somebody says. You seem like you are old enough to know that.
