I got an offer to go to Rome but it will cost 2,500 and I really want to go . My dad already said no , how do I go now ? What do I say?

I was invited by my school b/c i was on the honor role . i was planning on going with my best friend's sister who is 21.

Are you too young to mow the lawn? Are you too young to do chores around the house and show your father how responsible you can be? Also, you don't say who made the offer to take you to Rome. Why didn't they ask your father?

If its the financial part, maybe you could see if some of your friends or family have airline miles they could transfer to you, at least that would help with the air fare. If your Dad said you couldn't go for other reasons, well I guess you would have to obey your Dad, I don't know how old you are. Hope everything works out for you. I have been to Rome (30 years ago) and I loved it!

It sounds to me like you are too young to be going to Rome without your father's permission. Stay home and be patient. You'll enjoy Rome a whole lot more when you are a little bit older. Maybe it would change you father's mind if you asked him to go along on the trip?

If you're too young to get a job, then you're too young to go to Rome, at least w/o your parents. Wait a few years, you'll be able to do all sorts of things in just a few years, enjoy being a kid.

I'll give you 2 options....
1) Become a flight attendant and you can fly for free! Here are two sites to find jobs:

2) Position the trip as a cultural experience and part of your development as a better person. By your dad depriving you of this he is inhibiting you from growing into a more well rounded individual.

well tell your dad that you are responsible enough to go alone and you will get a job to help pay for the trip and it will a good life experience
