Yep, it's nothing more than a morally bankrupt fairytale.

No one said that god was psychic. Omnipotent means that god is everywhere at once, it doesn't mean that he knows what every person will do. If he did then why would he ever make evil people? That's what free choice means. Your destiny isn't pre-determined, you can change it. If Jesus didn't choose to die on the cross then he wouldn't have fulfilled the prophecy and therefore wouldn't have been the messiah. And to answer your question, yes, you are "saved" from hell. God did not know that the devil was going to turn evil (especially since the devil was originally an angel). God didn't create hell, the devil did. And if evil didn't exist, then there would be no such thing as good either. If evil didn't exist then you wouldn't have free will because everything that you did would be good. Anyway, God knows what he/she/it is doing. Don't sit here and try to think about it, a human mind could never understand God's plan, just like a toddler can never understand why his mommy wont let him touch a hot stove until he gets burned. Just trust God, I hope I helped you, and I hope you become a believer eventually. God bless

Johnny,
This is by far the most well thought out question I have ever seen on this site. If I can I would like to offer you a bit of wisdom.
God created his angels with the free will to worship Him. This is why Lucifer rebelled against God. If Lucifer did not have the ability to rebel, then there would be no hell. God created us in the same way. If you had no free will, you would be a robot. God knew the end from the beginning, so yes, He knew that Lucifer would rebel. He knew that He would have to sacrifice his Son to save humanity. He knew that many would CHOOSE not to worship him. It's all about free will. You can choose to live for God or you can choose to go to hell. Try to imagine what life would be like if you had no choice. That, my friend, is hell.

Some things there are no answers for now that make sense. Yes, God made Satan. Yes, God knew what would happen. Yes, to you and me this might not make sense, but we're NOT God. To answer your question about "what do we need to be saved from?" We are being saved from our choices. Our choice to live apart from God's Will. His Will is that no one would have ever lasting death, but would live forever with Him. Adam and Eve made a BIG choice to disobey God which affected everyone after them. It may not seem fair, but that's the fact. Some people think that they are "not that bad" and so think there's nothing to be saved from. And compared to Jack The Ripper most people are not that bad, BUT compared to God we are all bad. We rate our sins of, some are worst then others, but God sees them ALL as bad and worthy of DEATH. Satan can't get people to do anything they don't choose to do. We have a nature that chooses to, more often then not, do the wrong thing. Maybe the reason God created Satan and allowed everything after that to happen, is that He wants us to Love Him and obey Him because we Love Him, because we choose to, and NOT because He makes us Love Him. All he does is just gives us our choice. As for Hell. He doesn't make us go to Hell, we choose to go there by our decisions or lack of decisions. So where does Jesus fit in all this? God came to earth to make right what Adam's choice caused. We sin because that is our nature. Someone has to die for those sins. Jesus loves us so much He said, I'll die for those sins! I'll pay the penalty! What do we need to do? Is admit that we are sinners, that we do bad things. Not compare ourselves to the Jack The Rippers of the world, and say that “I'm not that bad.” But compare ourselves to God, and say how can He even look at me with the terrible things that I have done. And then say THANK YOU Jesus for paying the penalty for ALL the bad things I have done. Once you have seen how really bad you are compared to a perfect God, and what He has done so that you can live with Him the way He really wanted it to be, you will have a peace and joy that you have always wanted. Then the coolest stuff starts to happen, where God lets you do things with Him that you can only dream of. BUT it's still back to that CHOICE THING!!!

Really F***ks with your head doesn't it. I say just find something you believe and hold to it. Don't let anyone tell you your wrong. I think the key is to believe in something anything that makes you feel better about the end. That being said I do believe in God. But I think that anybody with his power would get bored and need something to do so why not f**k with the heads of the things you created. I know I would. Hell maybe when I die I'll become a god and get my own people to f**k with. Well here's hoping.

Jesus came to save us from the power and the penalty of sin in our lives. God didn't create hell for people. The Bible says that He created it for the devil and his angels.
Matthew 25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
It sounds like you need to be saved from unbelief and lack of knowledge about God and your position before your Creator. I don't mean that as an insult, it's just an honest assessment based upon your question.

We are trying to save ourselves from God. God wants to punish us.
Satan has been trying to save us all along. He has been trying to teach us that God is angry and vengeful.
Satan convinced 1/3 of the angels that He was right. 2/3 were too afraid of God to rebel.
If God really can destroy Satan then why hasn't he? Satan stole 1/3 of his God's angels. Isn't God pissed? What is taking God so long to destroy Satan? I think there is more to this story then God is telling us. Unfortunately, we only have God's side of the story.
And apparently we have to believe God because God can't lie. The book he wrote tells us that he can't lie and we believe it.

First of all God did not create hell! The devil was an angel who sinned against God and was casted out of heaven where he created hell. God told us that the only way to get out of hell (cause we all sin) is to turn to him and repent from sin. God saves us from the devil. WE DO NOT NEED TO BE SAVED FROM GOD!

NO we need to be saved from SIN, SELF, and the FLESH. God Almighty does so much for us. Hell shows just how much a person needs to believe in the atoning work of Jesus Chrst in order that they might be saved from eternal death. God does not allow sin to exist. It is man's choice and it is proof that we do not evolute.

Before Jesus, God's wrath poured on on mankind because of the sins we had committed. He had intended for the world to be perfect and without evil, and was very angry when we disobeyed, and he made it so that we would die and not have eternal life. We would simply cease to exist.
The Israelites had to make sacrifices of grain, wheat, animals, etc. to temporarily end God's wrath.
HOWEVER once Jesus died on the cross, he served as the ultimate sacrifice, and finally God's wrath ended. He opened the gates of Heaven, so now if we believe that Jesus was the Son of God and he died for our sins, we are saved and gain eternal life.

Hell was for satan... mankind was not made for hell... mankind had emmortal life at creation and was ment to live in the paradise that was Eden. Mankind rejected God and was cast out of eden and lost fleshly emmortality... but God provided a way for any man to come to him and regain emmoprtal life in Heaven... But most men choose to still reject God...Damning themselves to the same fate as satan... that is not what God wants but that is what most choose.
All human beings have an emmortal soul. But the flesh is no emmortal. So there are two choises for man as to the fate of his emmortal soul... with God = Heaven / without God = hell
you choose... if you choose to go to God...you must do it in The Way He proscribes.... you do not get to choose your own way
