Pls help, im an ex smoker of 7 months, used to smoke 10 - 15 a day, work during the day didnt smoke much till evening, i stopped smoking without patches or anything, but with support from friends and family, yet im looking for food when im not hungry in evenings as substitute for cigarettes (even after 7 months) and ive put on little weight, i have a busy lifestyle but have to relax at some point lol, how can i stop craving for food (by the way im a chocoholic lol, which makes matters worse) is it normal to still be reaching for food? if so how can i kick this habit too?

1st of all well done for stopping smoking, esp without assistance from gemics so you have great willpower. Its natural for your body to want a substitute don't worry about the extra weight it probablly suit's you. Try drinking a glass of water instead of eating or take a little fruit.
keep it up

Say many times on your head that i'm a non smoker. The cravings in straightforward terms final a jiffy. positioned your face in the pillow and scream in case you may. I did. Cry in case you may I did. decide for a walk. I did. Breath clean cool air into your mouth and save saying many times i'm a non smoker. solid success I stop in 1991.

The body is empty of nicotine, but the body craves the pleasing effect that nicotine gave it. The mind reads this as hunger, and you go looking.

I've heard a lot of people use Sugarless gum to kick the habit, (no, not that Nicotine gum, you're already clean of that) you just want something to work your mouth and make your body feel it is getting what it wants. Also get a straw or pen to chew on. I hear this helps.

Don't stock up on snacks. Have no readily available food within arms reach. Eat out is expensive, but worth the long term health benefits. Plus, jog an hour a day. That helps calm anxiety as well.

Smoked for over three decades. Repeatedly forgave myself for failing to quit(Poor me. I tried.)
I finally decided I was in charge of my actions and didn't smoke again...one day at a time. Surprisingly, it got easier as the days (and nights!)passed. Screw patches and all that other b.s. and take charge. Gluck

i have found eating foods that are the 'hand to mouth' variety helps...popcorn, peanuts, grapes, etc...
i think you have just went from one 'crutch' to another, as all ex smokers do...try to change what you eat...after all, you have already done the impossible and quit smoking, surely you can change your eating habits!
