I personally don't. My ex-wife was pagan, I have tremendous respect for her beliefs.
There's that Leviticus passage of "Thou Shalt Not Suffer a Witch to Live." And most religions -- save for most pagans, I've found -- boasts that they're the One Truth. That would be silly if sanctioned persecution wasn't often so grisly.
My ex once mentioned a wiccan maxim, "To Know, to Dare, to Will, and to Be Silent." In her inference, she also interpreted "to be Silent" was to just avoid conflict where there's no real need, but continue to practice the craft where you will anyway, in the privacy of your own home where it's nobody else's business.

Well, the answer is actually quite simple.
It isn't NECESSARY. But, people are not perfect and not all perfect care about your feelings. Thats just how it is.
You are filling the same part of you with Paganism that they fill with Christianity, Buddhism, or Islam. Don't worry if someone from another religion bashes your beliefs, they are making a mistake and will hopefully learn that you don't teach someone about your own beliefs by dashing to bits someone elses.
You may believe what you want to believe. It is your perogative, your decision, and affects you only. Just don't shun anything before you have at least researched it simply because an idiot was rude to you. Follow your path, loves others, set good examples.
And, about what Loony Liz said: The reason that it hurts your feelings when people bash your Pagan beliefs: because you also think that your truth is the correct truth. I don't think it is really fair for her to make such a negative blanket statement about MY beliefs. Thats the SOURCE of the problem, two people with totally different one and only correct truths that cannot exist simultaneously. The ACTUAL problem is when the parties involved have a lack of respect for others.
Isn't it fun to try and find purpose in life and sort through all the gunk along the way???

I dont know
I might disagree with a person and will argue with them but to put down his beliefs is something I try not to do because I realize that it is important to that person.
Even if I dont respect the beliefs I should have a level of respect for the person who believes them.

It is not necessary to belittle your beliefs. You have the right to choose. Condemnation is easy when people refuse to open their minds to differences in us all.

I do not condemn your beliefs nor anyone elses. I try to respect all others beliefs even when I believe differently.

I don`t belittle your beliefs ! Those who belittle you are those who foolishly believe in something that isn`t even there.
I only believe in what all of my senses can experience.
A supreme being or entity is not in my beliefs.

If you want to be a Pagan, I am not judging you. A lot of people are still that way. Why should we not have many gods? Why do we have one God? Who or what is God? That is the mystery.
