I mean, why would God make thousands of religons when he could have made one, to make it easier on us. My answer, is that He did make only one. Romans 16:16,"Salute one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you." In Matthew 16:18, Christ said,"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail aginst it." Now, prove your point.

He did make only one. Man has made the others. There is only one church (members of the Way), those who have received Knowledge. And there is only one way of living to obey God, and that is God's way. And this has nothing to do with any of the world's religions.

Sorry i'm not christian but...
I think God sent religions as we improve (as humans).
Primitive religions to primitive people...then step by step more complex messages came and finally the last three(this is what i believe as a muslim) He waited for us to evolve.

Maybe commenting on bible may not be right as a muslim but for me ''upon this rock i will build my church'' means that the real church is the faithful heart of Peter. So the real churces should be built in the hearts of believers.

As everybody has a different way for living...there are not thousands of religions there are billions...

And i guess the God wants us to make the right choices otherwise he would all make us believe and there wouldn't be religions.

There WAS one church and one way of serving God (not technically but work with me here). And then people started disagreeing about many things. So thus there are not only many religions but many facets of one religion.

Because there is more than one culture in the world. Because there are people with different beliefs than you. Because those people believe in those religions every bit as much as you do.

You are essentially asking why cant all people believe what you believe in.

That is beyond short sighted, beyond ignorant.

Read some history books to put your faith and their faiths in context. Respect their beliefs as much as you expect them to respect yours.

I think there is a verse or two in that bible of yours that mentions respect.

In the end times, there WILL be only one church - and the heretics of course, of which I will be one.

I agree. In the Bible, (I cant qoute it because I dont know where it is, im so embaressed) it says that their is only one way and one God. So thus, one religion, and if could guess, I would say God would rather their be no "religion", but just one way, if that makes sense.

although many of the "commandments" or rules are universal,

many religions don't believe in just one God. or any god.

now is this question really "why are there so many religions?" ?
in which case I suppose I would have to answer:
because each religion is somewhat area specific, to suit the needs/wants/fears of the inhabitants

Because church would imply religion and religion is false. No one has direct knowledge of God or God's will and if they claim to they are false prophets.

There is but only one church and God is the head. you must search with all of you heart. Jesus said in
REVELATION 3:20
20) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, i will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me,

The door that the Lord is knocking on is your heart, and if you open it God will come in and teach you the one way to serve him. Most people who try to seek God, their hearts are like doors, Hardened like wood. God is knocking, Repent and stay in prayer. He will answer. But you must have strong faith.
I pray for you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

there can never be 1 church and 1 way of serving god, because no religion has any fact to back it up, so its everyones different story, thats why they call it Faith and not Fact.........if we didnt have any religion there would be nothing for people to fight over and we wouldnt be subjected to people ramming their beliefs down our throats with no evidence to back it up with.
