The best thing to do besides going to a breeder or buying from a pet store, is to go to an animal shelter. They have many dogs and puppies, also you don't pay as much you would pay a breeder and you get the vet check up, their shots up to date, neutered, a micro-chip, and anything else. I got my dog at an animal shelter and I love him. Think that you are saving a life.

Depends what you are looking for. You can probably get a great mixed breed at a local shelter and save a life at the same time.
If you are looking for a particular breed, type the breed into a search engine. You'll find lots of websites and nearly every recognized breed has a national club that has lots and lots of info on their websites.

you could try the spca, humane society, pet store puppies are bad news, go to stoppuppymills.com to see why ot is best to get one from the pound you can find some puppies there and the money you pay doesn't go to greedy people who keep selling dogs for a quick buck!!! it goes to a facility that will take you money to save more animals and to spay and nueter. i got my chihuahua at the spca she is the best thing ever she was severly beaten know she lives a happy life.

if u live near a farm, go and ask... even if they dont have some for sale, they probably know of someone who does... go to a shelter, it will cost less, and you may have even saved it's life. talk to a vet near you, or the owner of a pet store. these people are all about animals, so they will know where to find one if they don't have some for sale themselves
***May God bless you through all the days of your life.

Puppyfind.com, puppyfinder.com, AKC website
And almost all breeds have their own website. Just type in the breed you are looking for and it should pop up with a whole list of sites to look at. I am a registered Rottweiler breeder and am listed on the USRC website. Good luck.

Go to your local animal shelter. There are tons of puppies there that are waiting for good homes.

Buy a newpaper and look through it. In the newpaper, they usually have a section where a bunch of people are selling dogs. Good Luck!

************* You must find your local Humane Soc. or Animal Defence leg. I wish you went to a ADL because they kill animals that don't get adopted in a # of days. You really must go look everywhere. Try Petsmarts too they have adoptions sometimes.
So you can adopt them any where.
