We cannot prevent getting old and the natural changes in our bodies realted to the pass of the years. Our instrument (the voice) is inside of our bodies, so our voice will get more and more mature with the years.

What we can prevent is Vocal damage and vocal diseases related with bad habits, wrong technique or wrong use of the vocal Instrument.

How do you prevent vocal damage? The answer is simple: With the adequate voice technique.

Many people have excellent vocal Instruments and they sing really good, But with the pass of the years they start suffering vocal problems. They need to go to the doctor and they discover that they have developed nodules, polips or they have serious inflamations in their vocal chords. Singers can prevent these Vocal problems if they learn a safety vocal technique and if they learn how to take care of their voices.

With the adequate voice technique the singer will learn the basic steps of how to breath, how to use the breath and support to produce a healthy sound. How to focus and project their voices using the natural resonant cavities and how to sing in the right placement all the time.

To develop a safety Vocal technique takes time, because singers need to train their muscles to produce a beautiful, powerful, but most important healthy sound.

With Vocal Technique excesises the singers will amply register and develope volume and Stamina.

The vocal technique excersises will help you to sing the repertory you want to sing in a safety way.

I reccomend you to find a good voice technique teacher who can help you to work with a safety technique and help you to develope your vocal capacities.

Go to my Yahoo 360 page and read my blogs. Feel fre to leave your commets questions or issues.

Good Luck

You can't stop your voice form changing; it's a natural occurence that happens at any stage in life. Your vocal chords are extremely delicate, but there's nothing you can do to "save" your voice.

If you want to develop your voice, then I would strongly reccommend going to a voice teacher to do so unless you think you are versatile in music to do so yourself, but by the nature of the question i take it that you're not. You're not going to jump octaves overnight; i can tell you that. If you want to extend your range, first develop your boundaries. If you go to far, your vocal folds can hemmoragge and develop cysts that need to be surgically removed. Talk to a professional instead of Yahoo Awnseres for something that delicate.
