go to www. god-101.com or follow this;

Two thousand years ago Jesus was a Gnostic, Cynic, Rabbi who uttered a few profound truths, much like Moses, Buddha, Confucius, etc. He then pi**ed off the religious establishment and they turned him over to the government, who killed him. End of Story.

Muhammad was a Arab preacher who married an old lady and a bunch of pre-teens and then pulled an "L. Ron Hubbard" and told everyone that he had a bunch of revelations from God! (That's right - right from THE BIG GUY!)
He then used this to unify the surrounding countryside and set out on a rampage of conquest with God at his side!
Years and Years later people started to write down what he said and Voila, "The Quran!"

Just read the Bible and the Koran. Don't listen to the guy above me! Jesus is the son of God and the true savior! Mohammed was tricked by the devil! Jesus in the Koran is a lot different from Jesus in the Bible.

This is a huge question: I would direct you to some history books. There are great world religions books that cover these topics. A good Christian book is called the Case for Christ by Leee Strobel. There is way to much write in this little area, but have fun looking into it.

I don't know about Mohammed, but Jesus is easy... it's a fabrication in its entirety.

... and I see that scott h recommended "The Case for Christ," by Lee Strobel. I recommend that you just skip that, because it is a pack of lies, misconceptions, misinformation, misinterpretations, and extremely questionable scholarship. You would do much better reading "CHALLENGING THE VERDICT: A Cross-Examination of Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ,", by Earl Doherty. It addresses all of the claims in Strobel's book... and then obliterates them, one-by-one... completely and effectively.

Jesus was hippie and he never worked until he become 30 and decided to create a religion to make the world a better place. He failed.

Mohamed was gay with many complexes. People who follow him have many complexes too.

You should read up on it...This way you can form your own opinion. It's the best way to go about it...By asking your question here you'll get different versions. Not that there is anything wrong with asking. But you might end up getting confused...

This website details, in order by year, the highlights of Church history. It also lists the beginnings of Islam relating to Church history.

Yeshua bin-Joseph (Jesus) was a man born in a town in the Sea of Galilee area northern Israel. His family were carpenters and worked with wood, most likely building and repairing ships for the fisherman on the Sea of Galilee.
As a young man, Yeshua was taught in rabbinical school and soon became a rabbi. He leaned toward somewhat more orthodox and nationalistic form of the reiligion called Essenism, or Zealotry. He studied with John the Baptist when John was quite old and radical.
Yeshua married a woman named Mary Magdalene, whose father was quite wealthy. His name was Joseph of Aramea. Joseph and Yeshua plotted together to rid the Iraeli countryside of the Roman Empire by staging a revolt in the Temple of Jerusalem.
They gathered together the small band of men and went into the countryside to stir up nationalist fervor. Three days before Passover, in about the year 30 ACE, Yeshua and his men stormed the walls of the Temple of Jerusalem, to start the revolution. Unfortunately for them, no one showed up.
They were arrested and were to be executed for their crimes. Yeshua's father-in-law Joseph arranged for Yeshua to be spared through bribery and a replacement for the death of Yeshua. Judas Iscariot took Yeshua's place on the cross while Yeshua and Mary escaped on a small boat to southern France. They had a daughter together named Sara.
Only much later, through the work of Saul of Tarsus (St. Paul...) did Jesus get born from a virgin, walk on water and all these other miracles.

From Wikipedia:
Born ibn `Abdu'llah ibn `Abdu'l-Muttalib, the man who later came to be called Muhammad was said to have initially been a merchant who traveled widely. Muhammad often retreated to a cave in the mountains outside Mecca, for contemplation. Muslims believe that in 610, at about the age of forty, while in a cave in the mountain called Hira, he was visited by the Angel Gabriel, who commanded him to recite the verses sent by God. These verses were later collected as part of the Qur'an (which was revealed to him over a period of about twenty-three years until his death).
The Meccans started attacking Medina to destroy the Islamic state. Even though the attacking armies were several times stronger in numbers and in weaponry, Muslims defeated these invaders every time they attacked. Muslims finally attacked Mecca under the leadership of Mohammad after eight years of Hijra and took control of the city. The Muslims subsequently removed all idols from the Kaaba. Most of the townspeople accepted Islam. Deputations began to come in from other Arabian tribes. The conditions for their adherence were: the acceptance of Islam, the destruction of idols, and the payment of the 'zakat' (tax) for the support of the Muslim community. In March 632, Mohammed led the pilgrimage, the Hajj. On returning to Medina he fell ill and died after a few days, on June 8.

What they don't tell you is that when Mohammed led his tribe to take over parts of Saudi Arabia, the people who would not submit to Islam were put to death. They were beheaded, oftentimes by Mohammed himself, whilst the man's wife and children watched.
Mohammed outlawed having sex and even seeing women's faces in public- perhaps because he hated the look he got from them because they knew that he had little girls with him in his tent at night.
What they don't tell you about the deportations to Islam was anyone who does not submit to Islam is considered an infidel and therefore, the good Muslim has the obligation to kill him.
The taxes that went to support the state of Islam were somewhere in the range of 90% and were levied mostly on the Jews because the Islamic state could not function without their skills and knowledge.

These are the stories of the basis of our religions.
