She's scared of the dark, so obviously I wouldn't put her like in the garage or something. But is it bad to stick them like under a table or behind a couch...or in the tub? Like in a confining space? I don't want to mentally mess up my dog...

as long as your dog knows that he is just "hiding" until he is found, then it is fun for him!! make sure you tell him to stay, and give him reinforcement (treats) when you find him... dont lock him somewhere that he cant get out!! make sure he knows that he is safe.

Put her on a sit/stay then and go hide. Dogs usually love hide and seek. It probably is confusing for her to be the one hiding.

i agree with everybody. when u play hide and seek, y don't u hide and have ur dog find u. if u hide her, she'll be scared and think ur trying 2 hurt her and that will make her not wanting 2 trust u. i've had lots of cats b4 and i use 2 play hide and seek with them n they use 2 find me. i use 2 hide behind the furniture. LOL!

Why placed "something" on the toy? after all, your canine is a searching canine and, even in spite of the indisputable fact that he won't be individual who hunts via heady scent, for specific his nostril is a methods greater effective at heady scent discrimination than human noses! Why do no longer you bypass to a pair schutzhund web pages or study how service canine are knowledgeable to song human beings. you're able to be able to p.c.. up some great counsel there.

i think you should be the one to hide and have your pup find you. it would be good stimultion for your pup and it would be easier to play. if you put her under a table you already know where she is..lol

Of course it is bad.. It will scare the dog and make the dog be fearful of you instead of a friend.

No, you sound harmless. Better that you hide, and let the dog find you.

It is not a normal thing to play hide and seek with a dog. Please don't tell me that you play peek - a - boo as well.

Who are you hiding your dog from? It can't be from yourself if you're hiding her. Why don't you just hide with her?
