Considering how Leviticus is considered old law, and that Christians do not obey it anymore, why do they always use it to defend homosexuality being an "abomination"?

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says, "They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

With love in Christ.

Who told you we don't obey it anymore? Every Christian I know tries their best to keep the 10 Commandments. Yes, sometimes God allowed changes, probably because He saw we were going
to do certain things anyway, but these were not serious things, such as when He said it was ok to eat all foods when previously there were dietary restrictions. I promise you, though, anything that God has called an “abomination”, He will not change His mind on.

If only New Testament sources are cited, then they have to explain why they are using the term to mean "homosexuality", rather than "temple prostitute".

By including the sources in the Tanakh, a progression can can be shown that it was prohibited here, here, and here, and then also in the New Testament here, and here.

There are some Christians who believe that the commandments of both the New Testament, and Tanakh apply.

Get a clue, why don't ya?
I don't use Leviticus to rebuke practicing homos, or to encourage celibate ones. There's plenty else in the Scriptures, including the New Testament, for both purposes.

Hmm! Good on you.

I used to be a Christian, but though I've never had any problem with gay people, I've never thought of that particular question, nor have I heard it on here before. I think it's just one of those things you hear so often that you take it for granted without questioning it.

I will be watching with interest the answers that come out...

there are things in the old testament that do not apply anymore but that doesn't mean the entire old testament is obsolete the things that have change have changed because of Christ like the way we pray and offering up sacrifices we don't sacrifice animals any more because Christ was the ultimate sacrifice

The Old Testament has been super ceded by the New Testament, however that in no way makes it obsolete.

Because many of them are double minded. They hate the law, except when it sides with their inner desires.

They justify themselves apart from the law and judge others according to it.
