The painting is of an old lady, wearing lots of things and a big coat. She has an umbrella I think and has something like 4 feet coming out underneath her skirt each wearing different types of shoes. I think she has a bird, or at least a bird cage with her. The author is a woman. That same author also painted a dark room, with a table in the middle and a chair beside it. On the table is a vase with one rose and some petals and on the floor in front of the chair is a white glove. It has a fantastical sort of look to it.

what technique is it painted with? contemporary clothing? colour palette...? give us some more clues... it sounds like south african Gavronsky...

Sounds surrealist. Maybe Frida Kahlo.
