they are equal in that they are all god, but yes they are separate and distinct.

Regardless of what other Christians believe, here's how simple it is for me: just consider an egg. A simple chicken egg. It's just that simple to understand how THE THREE ARE ONE.
And the following is something I found on the internet that you might find helpful:
"Some ask, skeptical of Jesus' deity, about the passage in which Jesus says that no one but the Father knows the day or the hour of Jesus' return.
"First, in the Jewish culture, there was the tradition that a groom's father was the one to decide when his son's efforts to prepare a place for the honeymoon would be complete. The son was under the guidance of his father in this, and, while there comes a time in this preparation work in which the father tells his son within what span of time the work would be finished, only the father had the right to give the go-ahead to his son to return to the bride's father's house to "steal away the bride". The disciples understood the answer Jesus gave in this way, not in the sense that Jesus, as God, did not know the day or hour himself. As the son, he could not answer the question directly without breaking the pattern of prophecy and type. That is what was understood, and it is a call to remember."

P.S. EVERYBODY AND ANYBODY: Don't listen to Joja - that is Calvinistic CRAP to say that God predetermines who will go to heaven and who will go to hell beforehand. I want to reiterate : THAT'S A BUNCH OF CRAP! Joja, ypu've obviously been exposed to some false teaching. Better get out the Book and read it again for yourself. May the Holy Spirit guide you into ALL the truth. God loves you. And me, too.

I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They are distinct but of the same household. The Father is over the Son and the Son is over the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost deals with people. I am a Christian. They are three thus the Trinity.http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/trinity Check it out.

A man can play the same role of father, son, uncle, cousin...it all depends who he is relating to.
And God too played three roles of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
But I think many feel lost in thinking,
"I want to go to heaven and see God,
and then I want to see Jesus,
and then I want to see the Holy Spirit."
Not realizing the three were One in different stages and roles.
Everything rolled up into Jesus Christ in the end.
It's One PERSONALITY expressed in three stages.
The reason why so many churches believe differently is because there is a Seed that Proves if one is a True Child of God.
This Seed-Child of God will and can ONLY believe the pure Truth of God's Word.
Give them the Word-Test.
Does it line up 100% with what the Bible says?
Does their life match 100% with what the Bible says?
This child or person receives the revelation of what is really the True Message of God's Word.
And he lives it too.
Everyone else will hit and miss and maybe be so close to
the Truth but still miss It somewhere which will prove that they had not the Original Seed in them before the foundation of the world.
And everyone thinks they have the Truth.
All these denominations and churches think they
have the Truth.
But God will Prove who has the Truth by manifesting His
Own Self to live out through them.
For all that was in the Father was poured into the Son and all that was in Christ was poured into the Bride which is His True Church.
That will be manifested in its fullness at the end time days
which we are so near to.

I agree with you they are separate and distinct personages. I believe God the Father and Jesus Christ both have a body of flesh and bone, immortal and perfect. The Holy Ghost would have only a body of spirit, so that we can feel his influence when we learn truth. Some people are making it more difficult than it is. Any father and son are separate and distinct people as well. We have a whole world full of manifestations of the same pattern.

There is a new Trinity on the block. You really should learn all you can about it.
There is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Then there are his sons, sometimes referred to as meatballs and me.
All three combine to make the wholiest of religions. After the god and his sons get with me--we create the oneness. Of course, it takes a little paper to clean it all up.
In the end, it is a new enlightenment unlike any other study of religion that there is. The study of the new religion is called "Pastafarianism." It is absolutely delicious. "Try it; you'll like it."
Warning, hot sauce creates a wholey new perception of Pastafarianism! It surpasses the Trinity altogether, and is considered by some to be radical.

There is no personhood - that's a projection of our ego thought systems. God as a person can not exist -- this anthroporphism should be taken metaphorically and not in any way literally. If we take this symbol as useful, then we then try to get across the perfect non-duality of God (non-dual, which means that He and everything he created is literally ONE thing -- and there are NO separate people, forms, things, etc.) using this symboll but in a way that works from where we think we are (we think we're individuals). A trinity concept is a simple step for trying to get a glimpse of the whole oneness thing. And it's helpful to talk about different aspects of god by referring to different forms of god --

Actually, I think it's only recently that the Christians started believing in the Trinity, and only because they kept being asked if they know anything about the Trinity or the Treaty of Nicea. I think they were tired of looking stupid.
I see it the way you do, though. Just as I would never pray to the Holy Spirit, I also don't pray to Jesus. I pray to God only.

The best way I can liken it......there's one United States, but 50 states make up that one (all 50 with it's own uniqueness but still composing the essence of the 1 US). So, one God, three parts. Make sense?
