I've read the Bible both KJV and NIV, I've tried the Gnostic Gospels, I've tried the Catholic Church, Baptist Churches, Churches of God, Kingdom Halls, Seventh Day Adventist Churches, Pentecostal Churches, I've looked through telescopes, microscopes and periscopes, rode planes, trains and automobiles, been underground, overground and wombled free, I've read the arguments of a couple of Christian philosophers and checked out the websites that argue in support of Christianity and I have yet to find this "God"

What?

Did I forget to order the 3D glasses or something?

Well everybody would say why don't you ask her yourself? hah

You just need to pray about it and have faith. Faith comes by hearing, so read your bible aloud. And keep your ears and heart open. Don't be judgemtal and be patient. You don't have to go to church to be religous or be a christian, in the olden days people just practiced their religion at home because the church was too far away. The real way to be a christian is to follow the bible throughout daily life. some people just go to church and on sundays and try to be holy that day, but you need to see the world through a different pair of eyes. Some people have never even heard of God, but they wish that there was some higher power to get them out of whatever mess they or in, or to make them feel whole. In my opion, I actually have come close to losing my religion in Jesus, but I thought there has to be something more to just life and death.

The place to find God i'm sure is different for everyone, but when i feel the closest to is through music. Try going to a revival or something where you can hear more evangelical preacher as apposed to the boring sunday morning preachers because they can sometimes really get the emotions stirred up. Just make sure you keep an open mind and don't harden your heart to what your looking for and maybe even pray if you feel led to and the answer will eventually come.

Only 1 way - use the concepts for a direct experience (no way to find god via belief). Need to use things like Zen or A Course in Miracles (but both can be misused as well -- lots of people have misused both -- especially the latter -- to make it say things they want it to say and to stay stuck in using the concepts as ends and not means). Christianity can be used, too -- check out Meister Eckhart, St John of the Cross. Islam, too -- check out Rumi. Even 12-step can be used -- anything that reduces the ego, makes one more mindful, etc. -- once the self is out of the way, god will be experienced. But beliefs and concepts are NOT it.

There are a number of different organized religions out there aside from Christianity. Most of which are going to demand faith. But it sounds like you are alittle bit short on faith. Realitiy is about perspective and perception. There are many different levels of awareness. Some religions attempt to alter those levels of awareness in order to "know" or "observe" god, or "become one" with god and the universe. If one is able to observe something, it seems rational to believe that faith would not come into play. But then again, rationalizing is a creation of man. Perhaps through knowledge and observation you may experience God, whatsoever God you may choose.

yes, you must turn inward through meditation practices, and utilize techniques such as chi kung, reiki, yoga, and jin shin jyutsu, basically anything and everything that will cleanse, open, refine, and balance your internal energy system and help "to raise the kundalini". then you will have a much more potent connection with your soul and god. the usual exoteric/popular religions emphasize seeking "out there" through reading, and believing and debating, etc. but turning inward is the key. review buddhism and taoism. check out www.sahajayoga.com for a significant glimpse of the importance of the "energy" connection to the entire area. and, take a look at the book * the complete idiot's guide to toltec wisdom* for some meditation tips and other valuable info. good luck

I found God through tragedy. Don't be like me and wait until you are lying in a hospital bed to decide you want to live His commandments.
You've investigated many churches. I believe strongly that I have found the true Church of Jesus Christ. The entire premise of this church is that you can speak to God in prayer and through the Holy Ghost recieve an answer. Good luck in your search.

no you didn't forget to order 3d glasses. don't worry about it. what do you think life is all about? life is what you make of it. when i took cultural geography, i noticed that there are 14 chapters that you can read about. you have just over emphasized one chapter out of 14. why don't you go and lead a healthy and fun filled life before GOD takes it away from you. you are trying to solve the mystery that not even einstein can figure out. when somebody does find out then we will all know. until then just get a life and find interesting things to do. don't worry about god. you don't know what happened before birth. you are not going to know until after death. why don't you go and investigate the other 12 or so chapters that are left in the book.

I'm with 'Spaceman Spiff' on this one - have a wander in your garden or the nearest park and look closely at the beauty of nature and extrapolate. Science can't explain such wonders.

Have you really tried all those 'places' you describe or does your extended quest just make for a better question? You may be in serious danger of over-analysis. Best wishes.

Someone succinctly put what I'm about to say near the top, but I'm going to say this anyway...

First off, religion does not define faith. Religion puts boundaries and rules on what you can do with your faith, and what you are required to do for your faith. Religion is the complete antethesis to what faith is meant to be.

If you truly are trying to search for your own faith in God, then it is as simple as "letting it happen". The greatest stories of faith throughout hundreds of cultures around the world, throughout thousands of years of human history almost all involve God simply "appearing" to a person. Take this figuritively or not, but the idea of God just "showing up one day" is the overriding theme of every person who has "true" faith. If this is what you are looking for, then don't try so hard. Studying different religions is very good for a lot of reasons, it expands your ideas of faith, and can help you define yourself as a person, but in terms of definining God itself... well... just look within yourself, and look around you. God shows up in the strangest places sometimes.
