I think $10,000 a head would be a good price, close the border and charge admission---what's wrong with that?

Citizenship should NOT be for sale at any price! But,unfortunately, our government is making a mockery of our constitution and our founding fathers. Seems they forgot that they swore an oath to uphold the constitution, and to protect this country from foreign invaders!

My husband came here LEGALLY from another country and has been in the USA for 10 years. He learned how to speak English very well, and is working hard, paying taxes and has never received one dime from the government. We have had to pay immigration $700 for some forms, and we are waiting to see what other fees there may be. I don't think that it should be an exorbitant amount when people sincerely are here to become US citizens. If you want to penalize people crossing illegally, that's called DEPORTATION, which I'm all for.

Well, the current costs to immigrate and naturalize are 16 years of stable life here, plus about $4,000 to $6,000 in attorney fees, and the huge application fees that total about $4,000!!!
So, just who are you trying to penalize? It won't make a difference to the 25 million ignorant Mexicans here illegally! They don't want to be American Citizens, they just want a decent job, and life, for their families! (Except for the 15 million males under 30 years of age, who have no education above about 6th grade, and are serious felony convicts, gangbangers, and mules!)!
We need to have 1. borders that are impenetrable, 2. penalties that are realistic, genuine, and enforced, 3. protection for all the honest people, who are waiting 16 YEARS to attain citizenship!!

I agree to closing off the border. But why citizenship why not have them pay just to take a look around. 1000 a day. Why not USA is starting to become overcrowded.

I just think they should at least have to pass a literacy test, being able to read, write and speak *English* before being admitted AND the government should drastically limit their support of immigrants. 30 days, tops, then they're on their own for finding work and not living off MY tax dollars.

I think they should be made pay a huge fine for each year they are here, for each SS# number they've use illegally, for each time they were deported and recaught and returned anyway double the fines. $10,000 would be a good down payment !!

No charge but make it more difficult. We are being overrun by uneducated people who can't speak English or who don't have any job skills. Some don't even know how to flush a toilet.
