The Sogang University is by far the best in terms of online learning, and the great advantage is that it's free. You can also buy the novice grammar book separately.
Sogang University also has the books people use in the Uni to study available in bookshops. I like these books, as they are easy to use, and not boring, they have set characters which are used in each series. It is accompanied with tapes or C.D's and has pictures, interesting cultural facts etc.
I also used these books before coming to Korea.

Immersion is the best way. If you arent willing to move to Korea though, by watching Korean movies and dramas without the subtitles, reading books etc all help.

Try to find some Koreans in your area, and do a language exchange for them.

If find I can learn more Korean from kids, than I can from people my own age. They have a unique way of expressing themselves so that you can understand what they are getting at.

Speaking Korean, you really need to focus on your pronunciation. If you don't get it right, don't expect Koreans to try to figure out what you are saying. As we often do in English.
Once you have the pronounciation down, you'll be flying.

The website below is a university course. The course is visual and auditory, the alphabet is included as well as phrases. You click the Korean charachters and then they are pronounced for you as many times as you need and you can save your progress through the site.

Learn the alphabet first so you can then hear the sounds and then go to any online website and learn the basic conversational phrases. It is pretty easy.
I am learning Japanese and it is pretty brutal but I am making good progress.
Good luck!
