scenario; a woman marries a man in 1968, has GREAT sex with him for one night, or several nights that year, they have a child, but then he leaves and she does not have sex ever since, and it is now 2006.

is it really possible for anyone to be strong enough to go without any sex at all for so long?

i don't know if that is possible. if she was strong, at least it must have been very difficult.

yes it is possible. I think it probably happens a lot more then most people think. And for several different reasons.

Some people just do not have a high sex drive: hormonal imbalance, medication, emotional trauma; some have emotional issues that prevent them from accepting divorce: they took a vow and won't accept that it isn't "obligating" anymore.

And some people are just involved so much in other things that it just isn't that difficult of a battle, and true as stated above as you get older, while the urges are still there and can still be strong, they just don't "run your life" anymore. No offense, but hormonally that is the way it's intended to be: young healthy = procriate; older = kick back, enjoy life, share what you know with grandchildren (because mom & dad are busy procriating! LOL)

Have you seen "The 40 Year Old Virgin"? But seriously, I would say so, that it is possible. It doesn't sound impossible. Sex is not the only goal in life. There are nobler pursuits.

Well of coarse it is..........

It's a lonely life, yes.........but when you love someone that much.......you have no desire to be with anyone else.......

(and if that's not the reason............)

it's still possible to go "without" sex.............but "sex" is easy enuff to achieve............it's the "love" that's supposed to go with it --- that's hard to find..............
