I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, and I had spit out a tiny white chunk with a red corner. Im guessing it might have been a piece of tortilla that i bit into earlier trying to test my limits. I'm just over cautious trying to make sure that its not a blood clot that I removed.

Blood clots are usually dark red to black.

If you lose the blood clot you will know it it is called dry socket and the pain from the exposed nerve will take the top off of your head. The blood clot will be dark maroon. Stick with pudding or warm not hot soup. Give your mouth a chance to heal.

Yes, it can... normally. Swishing water is fine to do, its when you suck it up getting ready to spit it out, that does the damage. Swishing with warm salt water is good to do, and helps heal the tissue. But DONT spit it out, just open the mouth and let it ooze out. BUT... your at 4 days now.. You should be fine. Just be careful... Dont eat anything thats sharp like chips, that can get wedged up in there and cut the scab open. That wouldnt be good, and could be painful. ALSO.. if you think you have food stuck in the holes, get a syringe and clean it out. Irrigating the site isnt going to hurt it or break the scab/clot. It's absolutely safe to do. Like i said, 4 days ... your ready to start irrigating!
