I hate this....like what can *I* do if the moron in front of me is going slow. Stay the hell off my ***, it won't do you any good, JERK!!!!

Apparently, they think if they "push" you to go faster, you'll "push" the car in front and everyone will go faster. Except it doesn't work. I usually slow down an extra five and then speed back up to put some distance between me and the tailgater. Once or twice like this and they usually back off.
What really kills me is tailgaters who could pass on a second lane. Why do they think its comfortable to be so close? I have no idea.
By the way, don't encourage bad driving. If someone is tailgating, don't speed up. It's like feeding wild life or responding to spammers.

A nice trick (during the day) is to turn on your headlights, as that activates the tail lights too. The best thing is to let them pass if at all possible. Then they will hopfully pass the person in front of you, and you can drive without the problem behind you. If not possible, just make sure you have enough space between you and the car in front of you, and let the guy behind you have an embolism or whatever...

You could pull over, let him pass you, and than return the favor. That might be a bit childish though, but they'll hate it. You could get plates, and call the poe-poe, they won't like that. You could also slow way down, and really make them perturbed. THose types of drivers are stupid people, who are impatient and not understanding.

They are wanting you to do the same thing to the driver in front of you. Just ignore them or slow down more and they'll get the message.

I would like to know that one too. Is the traffic too thick that they have to keep close so no one else butts in. I have had police men tail gate and I was keeping well into the speed limit.

Its so irritating when that happens. And not only are they tailgating, but ususally they are on the freaking cell phone.
When it happens to me, I put on my emergency lights, sometimes they back off and other times they don't.

Because 90% of the people who are drivin are idiots and everyone is always in a big hurry to get no where fast!

Because my truck is bigger than your car... and because if you got aggressive with the slow poke in front of you, perhaps he would go faster or maybe pull over. If you can't drive the speed limit.... DON'T DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cuz, they are idiot's. if they are really aggressive, i just call 911. sometimes we can get lucky and they just might have a car in the area. if someones with me i have them get the license plate number.
