Feeling sad when contemplating the end of life is a natural response, especially when you loose a job and family & friends, but this sadness is not depression. A person who is depressed may lack interest in what is going on, see only the bleak side of life, or feel no emotions. A dying person and his family should talk to the doctor about such feelings so that depression can be diagnosed and treated. Treatment, usually combining drugs and counseling, is often effective, even in the last weeks of life, by improving the quality of the time remaining.
Sounds like your experiencing anxiety, which is more than normal worry.
Continue to take your meds., oppoximately 3 months you should be feeling "whole" once more.
Be honest with your therapist, really tell him how your feeling.
Exercising helps, pets are wonderful, volunteering, working with the elderly, teaching a class in your spare time, go camping, swiming, canoeing, fishing, listening to soothing music, window shopping, joining groups online, international penpals, meditating, taking deep breathes, in... and out..... s l o w l y and try to focus and think only on your breathing. If you need any support I'm here.
You will make it!
God Bless

Get out of bed and talk a nice, brisk walk 1st thing in the morning. As you walk make a "to do" list. Sign up on web-sites and put your resume out there. Looking for a job just became your full-time job. Volunteer at a battered women's shelter. Make a gratitude journal. Your first entry might be "I'm grateful for the sunshine, rain, air I breathe" but eventually you will find other things to put in your journal. I lost my job in the middle of my divorce and this is exactly what I did...Good luck!

Talk to people, anyone. Talk to me. I've been there. In the last 2 years, I became crippled (spine), lost my job, had to fight with social security, die and come back from a drug reaction, have both of my shoulders rebuilt, then have my wife of 11 years divorce me because she didn't want to be married to a cripple, move out start over and only see my kids every other weekend. On top of that I already suffered from PTSD due to my 16 years in the military. It SUCKS! But you can get through it, you really can. Suicide is never the answer sweetie, it really isn't!

Well, if you have the possibility to travel to California, you should go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of your body and mind is simply amazing - own experience.
You have nothing to loose except the travel costs and less than 200 Dollars for the treatment - wishing you good luck!

First you must remember, all of the things you described are temporary situations. So don't give up the ghost just yet.
Second, you need to find a friend to help you with your resume. I here to tell ya, you are in no shape to accurately present your talents. If you can't think of anyone to help, post an S.O.S on Craig's list. There are more people out there ready to help than you than you can imagine. It worked for me.
Good luck!

*go to a place with lots of people, such as a mall
*build a support system for yourself...family, friends, etc.
*if you feel suicidal, put one hand in a bucket of ice for as long as you can stand it, and then keep it in there longer. death is cold, and this is what it feels like
*stay busy
*if you begin to obsess about some sadness, force yourself to think about something else
*watch a funny movie (i watch clint eastwood spaghetti westerns when i'm depressed)
*make yourself get out of bed, take a shower, dress, and go somewhere, even if it's just to buy a pack of gum

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't be so blind that you don't see it. It is very important to keep your faith. The man upstairs will help you, if you let him. Never give up, never quit. A good book to read is 'the power of your subconscious mind' from Joseph Murphy. It really is a good book.

Go fix yourself a tuna sandwich with butter, then while you are eating it and drinking a glass of water, check out www.hufa.org. Especially the symptoms page. It may give you a hint on a possible cause of your depression.
