That in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, a person can be removed from public office for not believing in God?

The Texas Constitution, Article 1, Section 4

"No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office, or public trust, in this State; nor shall any one be excluded from holding office on account of his religious sentiments, provided he acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being."

North Carolina Constitution Article 6 Section 8

"Disqualifications of office. The following persons shall be disqualified for office: First, any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God"

South Carolina constitution Article 4 Section 2

"Person denying existence of Supreme Being not to hold office. No person who denies the existence of the Supreme Being shall hold any office under this Constitution."

Tennessee Constitution Article 9 Section 2

"No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state."

I do not think that is correct. There are laws that protect people from discrimination. You do not have to beleive in god to hold any job. We cannot even display the ten commandments in the court house now. Why would they care what you beleived in. All job descriptions state you cannot be turned away due to race, sex, religion,. I beleive your facts are wrong.

It doesnt suprise me. In Washington state, they wont allow athiests to be in Boy Scouts ( it went to court and was ruled that the Boy Scouts are a private organization and can limit membership). So much for freedom of religion and seperation of church and government.

lol know i did not know that , that is so cool everyone should beleive its a good thing i mean but if u dont want to thats fine to though so really thats not cool because just because u dont beleive does not mean ur a bad person and it doesnt change the way anyone works so thats wrong

Did you know that most of them don't really believe but pretend that they do? Actually, that's against the constitution. Separation of church and state...
