Ok I can help you.

That depends on what the specie is what do you feed it.

If its a Mourning Dove take it to a pet store that sells baby parrots and ask them to TUBE FEEDthe baby Kaytee exact hand
feeding formula or another high quaility hand feeding formula.

If its a robin, blue jay, scrub jay, bluebird, starling cardinal, or sparrow. feed it PURINA ONE SENIOR DIET DOG FOOD MIXED WITH A MASHED UP HARDBOILED EGG AND SOME APPLESAUCE www.starlingtalk.com has the exact recipe instructions for the formula. or you can turn it in to a shelter.

If you can take it back to the nest do so.

Keeping it alive.

if its featherless get a 10 gallon fish tank lined with hamster bedding, with a heating pad underneath the cage and a red light over the cage for warmth. If it has some feathers use just the heating pad, if it has feathers on the majority of its body and is perching put it in a parakeet cage, with some perches.

www.starlingtalk.com and www.starlingcentral.net has the best information and instructions. if its a sparrow or a starling but the rules apply for the other birds besides the Mourning Dove.

How do you know it has not fledged the nest on it's own? Is it feathered? If yes, leave it alone, the parents should be caring for it. Baby birds leave the nest before they can fly, and hop around on the ground being fed by adults until they can fly. If it is not feathered and almost bald..okay maybe it did not fledge on it's own...then if at all possible try and find it's nest and put it back. The adults will not reject it! It is an old wives tale that birds will smell your scent...birds cannot smell much of anything. If you cannot locate or reach the nest...please get it to a rehab, as birds require a specialized diet, and it is difficult to keep them alive if you have not raised a baby bird before. Leave it to the experts. Good Luck.

When a wild bird falls from a tree, you should do nothing. I know it sounds cruel, but that's nature. The mother is around somewhere. Once a human touches the bird, and leaves thier sent, a mother will not take it back. You can try cutting up a worm, and feed it small pieces with a pair of treezers. Sorry I'm no more help than this. Good luck with your little feathered friend.

leave it. Do not touch it. There might be one of these 2 cases:
1. if too young, them maybe it got thrown out from the nest by it's mom , because there is something wrong with him. She can't afford feeding a sick one putting at risk the other ones which are healthy.
2.he is just in his first days out ... if rats or cats don't eat him, he'll manage to be fine . Mom and dad will still take care of him for a little while.

Call a vet or wildlife specialist!!!

Their diet is very specific and varied depending on species and the incorrect or too much food can kill the baby or cause improper bone, growth or feather development. Birds cannot digest milk because they lack the proper enzymes.
Temperature and housing requirements are very specific.
Young birds must be fed every 10-30 minutes (depending on age) from dawn until dusk.
Baby birds are often dehydrated and hypothermic and must be handled properly.
Song/vocal development in birds is partially, if not entirely, learned so birds must be raised around their own species
