Almost every christian that i know always say how happy they are after accepting christ. If it is so good why are they all afraid to tell anybody about it. some say they dont want to offend anyone but the very "jesus" that they follow was not afraid to preach.

Jesus preached to those who followed Him and spoke directly with those in need. He did not chase after people and try to sell them salvation. He certainly never threatened them with hell if they did not convert when He was done speaking.

He didn't chase people down who stopped following Him.

I have told people about Christ. I'm not afraid to do that. But it's got to be when they are ready, not when I am.

That trite little saying holds true. People don't care how much you know, till they know how much you care.

It's also true that if people get the sense that you only care to the extent that you want to convert them, they don't care how much you know because you've proven that you don't care.

Jesus taught, He never preached. I know I am splitting hairs. The ridicule they will receive at every turn. If they stumble they will be looked at with contempt by both sides of the fence. I have no problem sharing my faith of Jesus Christ with anyone because been a Christian a long time. I know that I am far from perfect because there was only one on this earth that was perfect, Jesus. They also know if they say a verse from the Bible wrong that someone is ready to pounce on this as a good sign that they are not a Christian. Pastors forget to tell their flock that there are sheep in wolves clothing and Satan knows the Word of God better than anyone on this earth. The reason they are so happy is because of a joy that is placed in their hearts by the Holy Spirit. They lose the fear of death. They know they will be able to see their Lord in person. All Born Again Christians are not meant to be preachers. Most that just give their lives to Christ are just babes in the Lord, they don't know enough about the Word of the Lord to teach another. Just like asking a new born baby about the true natures of the world. How would it know? It is described something like this in the Bible, when you are babes in the Word you need milk. That is the littler points of the Bible, but as you grow in the Lord so does your desire to learn more. You want a better understanding.

very good question,,,I think it is because they are ashamed or embarrassed to be called a Christians. And that is possibly because Christians in this country have usually been portrayed as fanatical "holly rollers"..If you question a Christians ,often they will become defensive,,perhaps they are not fully convinced of their own beliefs. There is no pat answer it is an individual thing with each Christian. I have also detected in some Christians an unwillingness to share their faith because they don't want everyone to be saved,,even though they say they do,,because they will loose their unique place next to God... Your question raises more questions

I believe that if someone is truly a "born again Christian", then they should not be afaid to share their faith. I am a born again Christian and proud of it. All you have to do is believe that God sent his only Son (Jesus) to earth, to die on the cross, so that our sins would be forgiven, for eternity. It's like a gift, you just have to believe, have faith and receive Him into your heart as your Lord and Savior. It is so simple, but people try to make it so complicated. You must be truly sorry for your sins and ask to be forgiven, and He will. We are all sinners, but God can save us from them. I'm proud to be a Christian and God has always been there for me and helped me through everything that I go through everyday, bad and good.

Because God has given everyone different Spiritual Gifts. One of those gifts is Evangelism. Not everyone has that gift of Evangelism. My pastor put it this way: there are those that go out and save others (evangelists) and then there are people to take those new Christians and build up their faith (teachers). Just like there are those that plant the seeds, there are people that water and fertalize the seeds, there are people that harvest the seeds, and God is the one who gets the glory.

Jesus was a revolutionary. Your "Christian" friends are being PC. I will however give them this, They told YOU how happy they were. Unless you are also of like mind, I'd say they were testifying at least a little. Be a shining example of your faith and others will follow.

That's odd, most born agains I've had contact w/ Love to push their story onto others. And most of them are recovering addicts, criminals, people who've reached rock bottom and needed something so extreme that "Jesus" was all the could help, since you don't need a lot of brain cells to read the new testament

if u don't know then just try looking at some of the nasty, narrowminded, downright mean comments that some atheists & ppl of other religions feel the need to make to Christians. it's hard b/c a person's faith is very personal, and when ppl laugh at u, or make fun of u, or are mean to u, it can definitely make u shy about sharing!

i know i find it hard sometimes b/c i don't want to alienate ppl or push them away by talking about it too much. but we as Christians are instructed to spread the Gospel--it's part of the proof of our salvation, but sometimes, esp. if you're a new Christian, it can be hard to talk to ppl about it b/c they are so hurtful or unreceptive.

Are you kidding me?All I ever hear from the fundamentalists is that "Jesus is the way" and "find Jesus" and "you're going to Hell if you don't accept Jesus' gift".They can't stop talking about him and feel the need to make everything revolve around their superstitions.
