Why are you belittling monkeys. First and foremost monkeys are intelligent creatures and there is no shame and if it was not for them being so successful them im afraid we would never exist. There has been several species of humans that have existed and are no longer alive do you share the same opinion that we should be ashamed to be related to these. No matter what animal or plant exists they have the their own adaptions which make them successful and able to co-exist on this planet. Enjoy the world of nature and appreciate their own special designs to function on this planet. If everyone was like you there would be no other species around to enjoy and learn from. Mass Extinction is a pleasure only you could enjoy.

Well, I would prefer a lot of things that aren't necessarily true...
But actually you are struggling under a misconception. Darwin did not say we descended from monkeys, only that we might have shared common ancesters.
I hate to answer a question with a question, but sometimes you have to: why does it bother you that we may have evolved, whether from monkey's or anything else? Do monkeys offend you?

sorry to be rude, but it is rather than being played with like a political game between nations. humans are on this earth for 100,000s of years and the prophets who we know are just within a 5,000 years of human history. so you don't need to believe you were monkeys. and as much as you are concerned these monkeys are not going to speak for the next million years...

preference has (or should have) no effect on truth. neither do feelings. so if, in fact,we are evolved from apes, should we disregard that because we dont like it? nobody ever said that the truth was pretty....and besides, whether you believe in evolution or creationism, we werent always human, so were either related to apes or dust. and this question is dumb

It's not a matter of preference... we KNOW that evolution exists... it's happening all around us. Things adapt to their environment...
Heck... look at this Bird Flu everyone is concerned about... it's mutating (evolving) from a bird to bird virus to bird to human virus...
Look at the Galapagos finches... they EVOLVED to adapt to their environment.
That's evolution.
Do I PREFER to lie to myself, and keep myself blinded from the facts? No... I PREFER the truth, as ugly as it may seem.
Now... the theory of human evolution does NOT say that we evolved from monkeys... it DOES that that we evolved from earlier forms of man... that we adapted as the environment changed... to meet the needs of survival. There is EVIDENCE that proves this... Evidence that man was around LONG before the Bible says the Earth was created (6000 years ago??) ....
So... I have to remove the blinders and go along with what I can see, and touch... not preference.

We're all children of the Goddess. From humans to sea cucumbers.
Not that I have anything against sea cucumbers.
I'm sure they're great. Just a little hard to get to know.
But I'm not sure how I'd feel if my daughter started dating one.
And I definitely wouldn't want one living next door. I mean a neighborhood has to have its standards. And I draw the line at living next door to a sea cucumber. ;-)
But.....
We're all beautifully made (evolved).

What's wrong with being distantly (very distantly) related to a monkey? Monkeys are cute.
You say that as if we're not physiologically related to other primates. We're animals too, although we have a consciousness that animals don't. It's vanity to think that we're so special, as if the sun revolves around our planet.

No, I prefer to think the human race is continually evolving and becoming better, rather than we'll always be the same.

Why would the human race evolving from monkeys bother me? It's not like I'm saying my mother is a monkey. What's wrong with monkeys anyway? ...and regardless, we evolved from APES. Apes do not equal monkeys.

No, I wouldn't feel better because it's scientifically unsound. It's not logical. Humans are related to monkeys, I hate to break it to you.
