We had a Littermaid box -- it just didn't work well. The blades would break up the clumps before it swept them out, so the box was never completely clean. The old clumps also clogged up the blades and they would just get stuck. We junked it after a week and went back to scooping.

I had the littermaid too and it sucked. Stuff would get stuck all over the scooper and it just didn't work well. I saw a commercial or something the other day for this new box that uses plastic or rubber pieces instead of litter and you connect it to a toilet or something. It was cool. The urine will just pass through and drain through to the bottom where it is disposed of through a hose into a toilet. Then it scoops the #2 into this part that mixes it with some sort of chemical or something and it is liquified and it drained the same as the urine. It also rinses the rubber pieces frequently so it stays clean (has to be connectd to a water source as well)It's about $300 but if it works as well as it seems to then it is worth it. You'd also never have to buy litter again. Search it online or I will and edit this.

No, they clog up! And I just love the names these products are given. Fresh Step, Purrforma, etc. You never see product names like Shi**tty Kitty or Crappy Cat, or Pissy P**ussy.
